Never in a million years did I think Frenchy would wear out his welcome in Atlanta, but the time is upon us. What sucks is we will get nothing for him. I think he knows in the back of his head that the Braves are better off with him then with out him. I have read that the Red sox are interested in him, but their outfield is set with Drew, Jacoby, and Bay so why would they want Frenchy. Bay is a free agent and I would love to see him in a Braves uniform next year.

Just who the Fuck does this guy think he is??? His selfish attitude and sense of entitlement are getting very annoying. He is LUCKY to be hitting in a MLB lineup, let alone the 7 spot!

I am so over FYF now. I was one of his supporters and was really pulling for him to break out this year, but I am done. He is a horrible person and even worse baseball player.

The sad thing is

After the loss on Monday, Brian McCann was doing a post-game interview and saying that the entire loss was his fault, despite the fact that he contributed a bases-loaded hit, while Failcoeur struck out, and that he wasn’t the one hanging his pitches, he wasn’t the one who decided to go to second instead of first for the sure out, he wasn’t the one who decided to walk Fred Lewis to get to Travis Ishikawa, and he wasn’t the one who made the pitch to Travis Ishikawaka. Yet, McCann shouldered the entire blame.

Stark contrast, here.

Oh shut up. Shut the f&*$ up, you little weenie. Are you serious? Francoeur should be on his knees thanking God, Bobby Cox, Frank Wren, and his lucky rabbit foot every night that he even has a spot on a MLB 25-man roster. He’s done nothing but be one of the game’s top out-makers for the past 2 years. Yet they keep giving him chances because “he’s a nice guy” and “he is a local guy” and “he was once a good prospect”. And he has the nerve to complain about what spot in the line-up he bats? My god. What an insufferable little prig. I’m beside myself.

Look, Francoeur, the problem is not where you bat in the line-up. The problem is you are the easiest person to pitch to in the major leagues, they know you’re going to swing at pitches you can’t hit and they know you can’t hit a breaking ball. The problem is YOU, Jeff. And until you stop pretending like it’s anything else, you’re going to continue to drink from the suck tank.

This just infuriates me. He’s got the nerve to blame a rookie for his struggles. I guess he’ll look anywhere for someone to blame. But we see through it, Jeff. You’re not fooling us. Quit trying to be so stubborn and quit convincing yourself that your problems are external. The problem is you. Grow up.

If Dunn walks 30 fewer times, he'll drive in 15 more runs. This is thanks to the scientifically proven formula: RBI = (this is nonsense) (I made it all up).

Very disappointing

I was cautiously optimistic coming into the season—Chipper said FYF would be the clean-up hitter, how do you argue with that? But now, I’m just disappointed that this guy doesn’t have sense enough to keep his mouth shut and just play ball. Others have pointed out what a monumental sense of entitlement this statement implies, and I wholeheartedly agree! How do you “perform” like FYF (fuck it, he doesn’t get caps anymore—too much effort to hit the shift key) fyf did last year and complain about your spot in the batting order? You don’t, unless you’re really only concerned with your own stats. That’s what his bitching is about, 100%—his personal stats. FW, DFA fyf now! He’s not worth a roster spot, and certainly not worth his salary. I wonder what Chipper thinks?

I’ve been staying out of the FYF debate for quite some time, silently hoping he’d turn the corner eventually. Those days are gone. This stupid sack of shit has gone too far now.

Jordan actually plays with a passion, and is clearly trying to improve. He is turning the corner, and should develop into a great baseball player in a few years or so. Upshot: Jordan cares, and we’ve seen nothing to prove that Frenchy does.

How does Bobby keep putting up with this crap? I’d rather let Brandon Jones try in right. I dont even care if he’s worse (which would be hard to do), he’d at least act like he cares

I just hope he turns it around over the next couple of weeks. He needs to stop swinging at one of the first two pitches

in 174 AB’s the guy has had

0 3-0 Counts
2 3-1 Counts
8 3-2 Counts

Bobby should put him in between Chipper and Mac just to prove to him that its not the place he is hitting. it doesnt matter where you hit if you always swing at pitches off your toes.

You’re a really, really bad baseball player.

by Zeus12888 on May 27, 2009 4:59 PM EDT up reply actions

That's inaccurate

Per Baseball-reference.

He’s seen 4 3-0 counts. 2 of those resulted in walks ( I think one was intentional), one was a strikeout, and one resulted in some other out.

He’s also seen 6 3-1 counts. Three of those are the results of 3-0 counts that have gone to 3-1.

And he’s had 10 full counts.

The numbers you pulled up at his ABs in those specific situations. 1) You need to count plate appearances, and 2) you need to look at results AFTER the count, not just the exact splits from batting with those counts.

Those numbers are still terrible, and even though I’m another who is guilty of once harboring hope for this guy, I’m ready for him to go back to AA while Blanco/Jones/anyone else gets a chance in his place.

Was this really worthy of a fanshot?? I mean come on, I think we need a fanpost about appropriate/inappropriate fanshots. Complete garbage, bigjoe you are better than this.

People will come Ray. The one constant through all the years, Ray, has been baseball. America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers. It has been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt and erased again. But baseball has marked the time. This field, this game: it's a part of our past, Ray. It reminds of us of all that once was good and it could be again.

It was probably worthy of a full article, but didn’t have any idea how I could fill the rest of the space aside from scrolling JEFF FRANCOEUR SUCKS 600 times

"If on-base percentage is so important, then why don't they put it up on the scoreboard?"
President, CEO, and chairman of the Brandon Jones fan club. PLEASE COME BACK! PLEASE COME BACK! PLEASE COME BACK!

So ...

Bowman was the one who commented?

Reporter: How will you address all of the dropped passes?

Mike Smith: I don’t think that we were as sharp as we have been catching the football. It’s something that is very fixable. It’s VERY fixable.

no...

Bowman wrote it in his blog. A guy that was commenting on that blog quoted from the blog, and that’s where bigjoe read it. I think.

We love to kill on him, but maybe he might be waking up?

From a blurb on Yahoo Fantasy: “RF Jeff Francoeur acknowledges that he has reverted to his bad former stance — unintentionally. When the pressure is on, he can’t stick to the improvements he made over the winter. He is getting more hits, but not at critical moments in the game. Francoeur went 0-for-4 Wednesday, and he finished 1-for-12 in the San Francisco series.”

At least he knows he’s fucking up. Maybe he can turn it around.
