"We didn't hit," manager Charlie Manuel said. "Vazquez pitched good against us. He wasn't doing nothing that I'd say was really great. But he changed speeds and threw strikes and didn't walk people."

Maybe this is why the Phillies have pitching problems...

Manuel didn't think Javy Vazquez's start against them Saturday was "Nothing that he'd say was really great"? I would say it was a heck of a job by Vazquez. Maybe that's why the Phillies need pitching; they don't know a quality start when they see one.

4 baserunners in 7.2 innings with 7 strikeouts and 0 walks…I’d say that’s pretty damn great.

Sore loser comments. Everyone makes them from time to time. Remember when Pujols got frustrated with his poor performance against Glavine and the Mets in the NLCS, and basically said that Tom Glavine was no good? Same thing.

No wonder nobody likes you, Tuttle... everything's a (Pujols) damn debate.

That seems like something Charlie Manuel would say

I still say Bobby Cox is the good guy, and Charlie Manuel is the bad guy. CM manages one of the biggest douchebag center fielders in the game, and I’m sure those two get along swell.

The Phillies play dirty, man. And they usually get by with it.

The opposing pitcher didn't get it either...
Braves’ success puzzles Blanton
Pitcher happy with outing, despite allowing six runs
Thus, Blanton doesn’t intend to dwell on the Phillies’ flat, 6-2 loss to the Braves at sold-out Citizens Bank Park. As far as he’s concerned, he pitched even better than he did in his previous start, a six-inning, four-hit effort Monday night in a 6-1 victory over the Cardinals.

Reading the rest of the story...

The reason why the Phillies have rotation problems is simple. What do you expect you’re going to get when Brett Myers has the lowest ERA of your rotation… and it’s still above 5.

I still can't get over they went all the way last year

I mean, I know they kicked our ass the entire year, but I figured somebody would shut the fuckers down.

~
But that was last year. We have a club of guys that could go all the way this year. And I mean that.
