Fantasy Baseball Question
Hey guys, I am in a head to head league with some college buddies of mine and I have the following middle infielders:
Chase Utley
Alexei Ramirez
Mark Derosa
Ian Kinsler
Clint Barmes
A trade has been proposed to me: Troy Tulowitzki for Ian Kinsler.
I obviously don't really need the MI player, but the guy proposing the trade is a Rangers fan. Should I pull this trigger? I haven't been high on Tulo - especially coming off that injury, but he has started out well (granted, it has only been 3 games...).
What do you guys think? Should I pull the trigger here?
Sorry that this isnt a Braves-related post...If it gets deleted, I understand...

There is no way on god’s green earth I make that deal. Kinsler’s value is so much higher than Tulo’s it’s not even funny. Kinsler was considered a late first round to second round draft pick according to nearly every fantasy expert while Tulo was considered to be around a 5th-7th rounder. Kinsler was ranked the number 2 player in Yahoo’s fantasy leagues last year before he got a sports hernia and he still finished 33rd even though he missed the last month and a half. You should be able to get way more value than just Tulo, ask the guy to throw in another player and if he doesn’t bite then forget it
Dont do it.
Thats a HUGE rip off for u. If Tulo performed his absolute best, it wouldn’t come close to Kinsler’s numbers

No Way You Make That Trade
Kinsler is one of the top 3 second baseman in the league. He has good power and steals bases.
no way in hell
Kinsler will give you a 25/25 kinda year at 2b and you have Utley, and could slot Rameriz at SS after 10-15 games. I wouldn’t even consider making this deal. If he offered you Tulo and something else that you are in need of or where your team is lacking then you can make the deal otherwise I would keep you MI’s and win those.
Why would you have 5 middle infielders anyway?

because
They provide me with flexibility with my lineup
Utley – 2b
Kinsler – 2b
Ramirez – 2b, ss, of
DeRosa – 2b, 3b, of
Barmes – 2b, 3b, ss
And I went with a new strategy this year: Draft the premium positions first…
I am now loaded with good players at premium positions, meaning I have enormous trading power.
It isnt like the rest of my team is lacking either -

Thanks guys...
I know that Kinsler was ranked way higher than Tulo coming into this season.
The only reason I ask this is to get a good gouge on your guy’s opinions on whether or not you think Kinsler will produce like he did last year (I am not expecting NEARLY as much from him this year) and if Tulo will go back to pre-injury Tulo.
Oh, I should add that this is a crazy league that scores all of the following stats:
GP R H HR RBI SB BB K A E AVG OPS OFA

Kinsler should be better across the board by and large. The only area of concern I have is that his steal total might have maxed out last year, which from the looks of your team is a need. Either way Kinsler has the minor league and major league track record to repeat and even increase his numbers from last season. He is a keeper.

I’m just playing devil’s advocate here, but you should make the trade. Think about it, you are gambling that Ian Kinsler gets hurt and misses 160 games. In that event, you will have Tulo while he Kinsler hogs his DL spot…

no way. This isnt even close to a fair trade.
