Angels' Pitcher Killed in Car Accident

PrintAngels' pitcher Nick Adenhart was killed along with two others in a car accident last night in a hit and run. Adenhart was 22 years old and fresh off the best performance of his promising young career. A mini-van struck Adenhart's vehicle while running a red light. The driver of the mini-van is in custody after he was caught attempting to flee on foot.
This news isn't exactly Braves-related but its a major story in baseball. I send my condolences to Adenhart's family and friends, the Angels organization, and the families of the others killed in the accident.

He has a life, too. Who knows what he was struggling with. Prayers go out to him as well. He can’t be having his best day today.
He shouldn’t have been drinking and speeding through red lights.

I havent read in any report that he was drinking (tho it sounds like he might have).
Ill be honest, there have been times, esp late at night/early morning, when i’ve accidentally run a red light or stop sign…it could have been an honest mistake..
Still, he shouldnt have fled the scene.
Fair enough. Maybe it’s not fair to condemn the guy without hearing the real story, but yes…he shouldn’t have fled.

Prayers do go out to him as well
but I hope justice is served. Everyone makes mistakes but fleeing the scene of a violent accident is selfish and callous.

Since I am out on the west coast I have comcast sports net (kind of like peachtree I think) and I watched the game last night, he was good. He was probably out celebrating with friends and family after his great game. This is so sad, I feel for his family and the Angels organization.
