Four-bases loaded walks occurring in one inning might seem like a rarity. But according to the Elias Sports Bureau, it's happened twice previously during this decade. The Orioles issued four bases-loaded walks in the eighth inning of a Sept. 5, 2008 game against the A's.
The last time it occurred in the National League was May 9, 2004, when the Dodgers allowed the Pirates to score four eighth-inning runs via walks.

Three times in a decade is still pretty damn rare. I for one am glad we got it out of the way early, and in a game where we had already won the series.

plus...
It’s not like the same team did it more than one time….

Good point. This was an aberration, just like you said (other thread). I am confident of that.

Leave it to Elias
To make Jordan Schafer’s emergence to seem awesome, but just as quickly, remind us of how crappy of a performance the Braves did just nights later.

It has to be said.
Does anyone besides me question the consistency of the home plate umpires strike zone. Even the announcers mentioned the called strike three on Kelly Johnson earlier was the same pitch he was calling a ball in the seventh. I do realize Boyer was just awful and Moylan wasn’t much better but it has to be said the umpiring wasn’t even mediocre it was awful and inconsistent at best.

I felt it was a little inconsistent, and inconspicuously favoring towards Philly. The outside strike for lefty-batters was called quite a few times for Philly, but the same pitches weren’t benefiting the Braves.

Anyone else see Manual and Ibanez's post-game comments?
"We played 2 1/2 games where we hadn’t done much right, but we came back and got them," manager Charlie Manuel said.
"This club, we never feel like we’re out of a game," Ibanez said. "We certainly felt we can come back if we put good at-bats together."
I think Rollins said something similar as well.
Nothing like taking credit for something you didn’t make happen.

Yeah, I saw that and rolled my eyes. Didn’t realize that 3 innings is 1/2 of a game.
You can't sit on a lead and run a few plays into the line and just kill the clock. You've got to throw the ball over the goddamn plate and give the other man his chance. That's why baseball is the greatest game of them all.
