Lefty Heavy Lineup
With all the left-handed hitters we have in our lineup this year, I think that we're going to have to platoon somewhere (LF) or try to give one of the lefties a day off just about every time we face a lefty. There's an article on the Braves site about Garrett Anderson's familiarity with Moyer, so I assume he'll be in the lineup tonight. With guys like Moyer, I don't think that it matters as much, but against the Oliver Perezes of the world with good "stuff" I believe we've gotta get our righties in there (Prado at second, Diaz in left, Norton at first). I hope Schafer hits lefties well; we don't have many options in center.
Also, speaking of lefties, man I wish we resigned Ohman. I'm not at all comfortable with our LOOGY options. I think that's our weakest spot on the roster. It'd be nice to go snag one of those Japanese lefties from the WBC.

Kelly’s no slouch against LH pitching…he’s actually better than Prado, although sample sizes are small.
You can't sit on a lead and run a few plays into the line and just kill the clock. You've got to throw the ball over the goddamn plate and give the other man his chance. That's why baseball is the greatest game of them all.
Our bench is deep...
I think it’s been planned all along to have Diaz and Anderson platoon in left, and let’s not forget Diaz is no slouch and could play everyday for some other clubs. I like Prado at 2nd at times, but not as a hard and fast rule. And same goes for Norton at first.
My question is when Francoeur is hitting .230 with 3 homers in June (God I hope not) what will our options be in right? Maybe shift Diaz or Anderson to the other corner? Not saying I want to replace Francoeur, but he may need a little time off to get straight. I mean let’s face it, he hasn’t proven that he’s fixed himself from last year yet.
The only position we need to platoon is LF in my opinion. Matt Diaz is too good against lefties to leave on the bench. If Bobby doesn’t give Diaz that opportunity then I’m gonna be pissed.
Agreed. Platooning Kelly Johnson is beyond dumb. He’s certainly better than Prado even against lefties. I’m not sure playing Norton is an advantage over Kotchman either considering Kotchman is a defensive stud and is still developing.
