1) Attendance
2) Pick to Click
3) How many innings will Jurrjens pitch tonight in his season debut?

Please don't bitch about my picks to click. Please please please please please. I can't pick 12 players per game that got a hit, drove in a run, or scored a run.

I kind of assumed it was Vasquez. It apparently isn’t. EDITED.

To avoid any confusiion like last game,

shouldnt we set some perameters for the “Pick to Click”? Like, they have to have X# of hits, or a HR, or something like that?

my 1.3 cents (damned inflation)

bigjoe is taking his time to run this game and award points – I think he should have sole discrection over pick to click and we commoners can just live with his decisions…sometimes there may be someone who has better stats, but the pick to click may be that guy who goes 1-for-4 with 3 k’s but get the clutch hit off the power closer in the bottom of the 9th to score 2 and with the game. then what? let’s just have fun and let bigjoe run with it

As long as you know its appreciated. Besides, I’m pretty sure (and I’m sure you already realize this) that a lot of people will drop out as the season drags on.

Depends how the season goes…if we fall into the shitter like last year, no one will be around. If we remain in contention…well, I’m probably gonna have MORE work with all the fans coming out of the closet and Googling “Atlanta Braves blog” (TC is the first result that pops up)

As it should be.

However, I suggest that in the next post, you might (in your unfettered discretion) indicate the previous game’s Pick to Click pick, with a brief comment – Like, for example: “4/5 Pick to Click pick: Lowe – 2 hitter.” or " … Logan Shaver – HomeRun, 1st MLB plate appearance."

Just suggestin’ …

Not a bad idea…I think then at least you can prevent arguments and we will get a sense of what you (bigjoe) view as being worthy of P2C…

Are you going to pick different categories for each series, or do the make a wild card pick for like two points like Gondee did last year? Just wondering how it was going to go this year

When I do a AAB pick, you’ll get points based on how above and beyond it is. IE: “Jeff Francoeur strikes out” = 1 point. “Jeff Francoeur strikes out 3 times on a total of 9 pitches” = more than 1 point. Its totally my discretion, so yeah…

Ooop!

Actually was with the g-rents, who think that the digital age is their electric clock radio that you miraculously don’t have to wind! :D
Really, they’re awesome, but they’re 89 and 90 and have no interest in getting a computer (and I haven’t the funds for a laptop & air card). I go stay with them a couple of times a month and fix stuff in the house, cook and clean, that kind of thing. It’s cool, I mean I miss jumping in on the threads, but it’s fun to watch the game with my Papa. We talk baseball and tease my Nana about getting too excited about the plays; she’s actually getting pretty good at knowing what’s happening. And I think she secretly wouldn’t mind having a computer, but Papa doesn’t care anything about it. Then work’s been a bitch, so I’m just getting around to looking at week and a half old posts. Yay me. :) (nice to be missed)

yeah the other 96 is that I am too good for everyone else.

right on, that is awesome that you take time to do that kind of stuff for your grandparents, I gotta give you mad props for that.

As much as we love it, baseball is just a game. Rest In Peace Nick Adenhart.

Tell me about it…EI is starting off the season on the wrong fucking foot.

You can't sit on a lead and run a few plays into the line and just kill the clock. You've got to throw the ball over the goddamn plate and give the other man his chance. That's why baseball is the greatest game of them all.

Frenchy

should get “honorable mention” for seeing more than 3 pitches in an at-bat and trying to slap the ball to right in the same ab.

Obviously I’m not in the loop. Can someone explain the All Thumbs Jefferson reference? I’m guessing it’s KJ.

One time during an open thread we were talking about how in the old days everyone had a nickname (go to baseball reference and look up some of the rosters in the 1890s). And for some reason All Thumbs Jefferson stuck for Kelly Johnson because he botched an easy popup that cost a game against the Phillies. Yes, it really should be All Thumbs Johnson, and I don’t know why it isn’t.

Correct me if this is wrong…

Yeah I thought I understood the “all thumbs” part, but the Jefferson part had me stumped.
