Braves Tickets are 3rd Lowest
According to an article about the outrageous average ticket price for games at the new Yankee Stadium ($72.97), the Atlanta Braves have the third lowest average ticket price in baseball ($17.05). The league average is $26.64 per ticket. I don't know about you guys but I really appreciate the fact that the Braves are putting a good product out on the field with a fairly high payroll and still keeping the ticket prices at one of the lowest levels in all of baseball. Turner Field may not be one of the newer parks but it's still a really nice place to watch a game. I remember watching games for many years at Fulton County Stadium and the Ted is a big upgrade. I'll post the link to the yahoo article below:

Great article
Helps me know where the cheap parks are, so I can space out my travels so I don’t get reamed by consecutively going to nothing but expensive parks. Colorado’s $38 average premium seats bodes well for me if I make it out there in 2009.
I hear little bad about Chase or Miller, and there are no real bad seats at Turner, so I find it interesting that three nicer parks rank the cheapest. No matter, I’m glad that I have the luxury of enjoying live baseball on the cheap.
No wonder nobody likes you, Tuttle... everything's a (Pujols) damn debate.
Chase = really nice
It almost makes you forget that you are in the shit hole they call Phoenix
best defensive shortstop in baseball hahahahahahahahahah (omar visquel)
this is true.
i usually don’t give a crap what kevin cowherd thinks, but even he did a segment on his sports talk radio show several weeks back, talking about just this, that the Braves offer the best overall package in baseball – Turner stadium, with all the attractions, and arguably a quality team this year – all for beans compared to what those pin-striped losers up north are charging their “fans”

Good to hear. My roommate is a Red Sox fan and we’ve decided to make the trip for the series in ATL this season. It’ll be my first time so I’m pretty pumped.
Get ready to be disgusted at the boos the Braves will get and the cheers that Ortiz will get if he goes deep.

Yeah, I’m trying to put that out of my mind.

Yeah, its pretty bad. I went when the Sawx came to town a couple years ago, and it was sickening to see just how many bandwagon Red Sox fans there are. i won’t go back. I am going when the Yankees come, so that will be interesting to see how it compares to the Red Sox.
"Ohhhh shit"-Bobby Cox
You have no idea, man.
Growing up in Georgia absolutely NOBODY here was a Red Sox fan…. since ‘04 I’ve seen Red Sox caps explode everywhere, especially at the UGA campus.
It’s fucking ridiculous.

I never had a bad experience with the BoSox fans. Sure, they boo and all, but they’re happy drunks and seem to just generally love being at a ball game. Maybe I’ve just been fortunate! My “bad” experiences are with the Cubs fans. They’re just plain rude and obnoxious about everything, so I’m kinda looking forward to the BoSox games.
It’s not so much having a bad experience with them personally, it’s just the bandwagon-ness of the whole thing. Nobody in this region gave two shits about the Red Sox in the 90s and early 2000s, but then once they finally got over the hump and started getting media exposure out the ass, suddenly these “lifelong fans” of the Red Sox started coming out of the woodwork.
Atlanta has always been a city of transplants with fans from all over the place, but the Boston thing was so sudden and predictable that it struck me as particularly weak.

It truly is frustrating, but what I enjoy doing is going up and talking to them…trying to find out what they actually know. One particular instance I found funny was when one guy couldn’t even name their starting five as I was rattling off that and their bullpen one by one.
Just another small victory in my life.

Where were these ticket prices last year???
Maybe it was because I used StubHub.com, but I paid over $90/ticket for upper deck, 1B side last year for a July game against the Tigers…
I am looking at going to a Braves/Stros game when Atlanta rolls through Texas this year…any advice on where to find the cheapest tickets? Ebay is an option I am looking at right now…

As the kids would say
owned. You got owned. Upper deck 1B side is $12-15.
My advice? At the gate, or scalpers near the park. There is no reason you should pay anything over box office price for Turner Field seats. Turner Field never sells out, there is always somewhere to sit.

I believe in his case, since he was the receiving end, it would just be “owned.” Now had he told a story about how he sold his $12 ticket for $90, then he would undoubtedly have been doing the “pwning.”

I used to play WoW…they can be interchangeable.
BTW…if there’s a bigger nerd on this site, I’d like to meet them.

Based on all the internets lingo he uses
I nominate VictorW.
But shit, I like video games and all, but I never played WoW, StarCraft, or Everquest.

WoW was on another level. I had to stop because it was becoming a problem.
Never could hang around in Starcraft…that game’s too fucking quick.

Oh eff...
you were ripped a new one!
Ebay’s not a bad idea – at least it wasn’t a couple of years ago. Before I was getting my free upper deck tickets from my volunteering gig, I bought some tix off ebay. They were Lexus level (last year it was Golden Casino), and when I found out the seller was in Atlanta, I emailed her asking her if I could pick them up instead of shipping. Since we’re in the same city & all. All she wanted was face value because she was simply going to be out of town, and they were her season tix – $15 each. And it turns out she lived 6 miles from me (not bad in Atlanta). So, yeah, take Roy’s advice or see what you can find on ebay.
