Atlanta Braves Minor League Recap: 4/23
Charlotte 7, Gwinnett 5
- B. Canizares 2-5 HR(4), 2 RBI, K
- B. Jones 4-5 2B,RBI
- J.C. Holt 2-3 2B, BB, CS
Gwinnett is 5-10 on the season. Nothing too exciting in this game, unless of course you are a Brandon Jones fan. But really, who likes B. Jones? But really Jones is hitting well but has shown litle to no power so far this season otside the few doubles he has amassed. I know he has it in him. Canizares has been flashing more power than he has in the past but I don't really see him sustaining it. I will do my first write up on him on Sunday.
Chattanooga 1, Mississippi 2 Final in 12 Innings
- K. Kaaihue 1-4 3B, BB, K
- C. Rodriguez 2-4 2B, BB, SB(1)
- K. Cofield 5IP 3H 1R 3BB 4K
Wow, how the hell does Kala Kaaihue get a 3B? Did the ball get wedged inside Jabba the Hut who just happened to be in the field of play? Rodriguez and Cabrera are two of my favorite prospects that no one really cares about. Cabrera is hurt right now, but don't be surprised if both these guys quietly put together solid season, because that is what they do. The bullpen for Mississippi put together 7 innings of 2 hit ball. We should call them all up to the big club. NOW.
Myrtle Beach 1, Salem 6
- F. Freeman 1-4 2B, RBI
- C. Johnson 1-3 BB, 2 K
Blech. Ortegano gave up 5 runs in 5 innings. No Jason Heyward again. I hope things are ok with him. If anyone has any news indicating where he has been please let the rest of us know. Cody Johnson continues to strike out.
Rome 2, Savannah 5
- J. Campusano 2-4 2B, 2K
- L. Sumoza 2-4 K
- G. rodriguez 1-3 3B, 2 RBI, BB, K
- R. Delgado 5IP 3H 2R 0BB 3K
Well Randall Delgado has three straight solid starts under his belt in full season ball. Excellent! For someone who is just barely 19 years old I am quite impressed. He could be our best pitching prospect by the end of the year. Rodriguez has an XBH in 5 of his last 6 games and has been the lone dependable source of offense recently.

Love seeing that the G-Braves roughed up Lance Broadway for Charlotte, that guy is made of douche.
Also noticed that, in order to put Brian Barton on the roster, the G-Braves placed Joe Borchard on the restricted list. Not exactly sure what this means for Joltin Joe.

How could any dude named “Lance Broadway” not be a massive douche?

The Brave's Michael Broadway isn't a douche...
but Lance does play for President ODrama’s favorite team, so I see where he gets it…

Damn…that dude’s old school. I saw the original trilogy 100 times each, but I just couldn’t get into the prequels. Too disappointing for me.

OK, we’ll go original trilogy. Who was Lando’s co-pilot in the attack against the second Death Star?

NERD ALERT!
People will come Ray. The one constant through all the years, Ray, has been baseball. America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers. It has been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt and erased again. But baseball has marked the time. This field, this game: it's a part of our past, Ray. It reminds of us of all that once was good and it could be again.
we’re not even scratching the surface yet…
