Braves almost acquired Jason Repko
From K-Ros:
The Braves talked with the Dodgers about a trade for Jason Repko, but opted against trading a pitching prospect for a spare outfielder at a time when they appear ready to commit to Jordan Schafer in center field.
"Almost, but not quite," one major-league source said when asked about the discussions.
Repko, a right-handed hitter, could have platooned with Schafer or Gregor Blanco, both of whom hit from the left side.
The teams could revisit the possibility later.
Repko reminds me of a Mark Kotsay-lite type player. I really hope they don't put another obstacle in front of Jordan Schafer. I guess the team is getting scared about having too many left-handers in the lineup.

Interesting
I am guessing straight up for B.Jones?I think this is probably more of a sign that Schaffer is gonna win the spot and play more, in that Repko is a righty and more suitable for a bench player role than Jones.

It says it was a pitching prospect not hitting prospect.

I can’t imagine it would have required much of a prospect.

When did Kevin Towers take over as the Dodgers’ GM?

Jason Repko
Does Wren and Cox reall want to form a platoon in center as well? And why waste a roster spot for Repko when you could use the versatile Omar Infante when a dominant lefty is starting (i.e. Santana, Hamels, Perez at times).

If FW were concerned about too many lefties
Why did he sign G. Anderson?

and if he was that unconcerned about being concerned about having too many lefties then why not put a flyer on Dunn when he was around. Unless we were just out of monies.
Pujols!!!
We should have traded for Pujols.

It had to be the money, because nothing else makes any sense. To me, you either go all the way and get the best hitter available (Dunn), or you go with the cost-effective/high-ish upside option (B. Jones/Blanco/Diaz platoon).

Kirkland?
Did the Braves pick up Cody Kirkland from Detroit as a backup 3B prospect? Looks like he got into the game today.
I am pretty sure
that this article says that they DIDNT make the deal…
