Bye Bye Blaine Boyer
The 2009 Atlanta Braves bullpen shakeup has officially begun. Blaine Boyer was designated for assignment today to make room for Jo-Jo Reyes. This means that the team has 10 days to trade him or put him on waivers for the purpose of sending him to the minors (or something like that). It's been a long and slow fall for Blaine, who was all-everything setup man in 2005, then got injured and missed most of 2006 and 2007.
Boyer had appeared in three games this season for Atlanta, posting a record of 0-1 with a 40.50 ERA. The righty gave up six runs on three hits and three walks in just 1 1/3 innings.
Blaine is a good guy and he's shown flashes of brilliance in the past, but overuse last year (he appeared in 76 games) translated into inneffectiveness this year, which is weird because he was great in spring training. Get ready for the be-all end-all buzzword for 2009 -- "dead arm."
I don't want to panic, but it might be time to get some "live-armed" young kids in the pen... I'm looking at you killer-M's -- Morton and Medlen.

REJOICE!
How long until our “professional hitter” gets the same treatment?
Reporter: How will you address all of the dropped passes?
Mike Smith: I don’t think that we were as sharp as we have been catching the football. It’s something that is very fixable. It’s VERY fixable.
I say we call up BJones AND Blanco
This is getting pathetic

BJones I agree w/ ...
but we all knew JS would be up and down offensively. They won’t send him down anytime soon.

I’m pretty sure we have guys at A-ball that can out-pitch some of the people who’ve made appearances in our pen this year.
Tommy Hanson 4 ROY
Doesnt't matter
If the offense can’t even put up ONE run through nine freakin’ innings.
they’re pathetic.

This team has stopped playing in April.
Anyone paying to see these bums is crazy.

I'm pretty sure that an exaggeration ...
but I feel your pain.

Sorry...can't agree with you on this one...
I’m not a believer in Morton. He was mediocre at best last year in his starts. Jo Jo has shown already that he isn’t the answer. It seems to me that we’ll be seeing Hansen a lot sooner than anyone expected.
He DID just get DFAed…so he could go to Gwinnett if no one claims him.
SWAGGA LIKE...whoever the fuck is not walking people
President, CEO, and chairman of the Brandon Jones fan club
dayton moore will claim him. he doesnt have a roster full of former braves yet.
