Tom Glavine Leaves Rehab Start with Sore Shoulder
Tom Glavine has apparently faced another setback, for he lleft his rehab start today after two innings after experiencing discomfort in his throwing arm. He will not start Saturday it appears, here is the link: Click!!
Personally, I believe he should just hang them up. He had a great career and he has nothing left to prove. His elbow is in a funk and now his shoulder, he shouldn't try making a comeback and should go into the HoF with Maddux the same year.
Update, Here is another link: http://www.ajc.com/news/content/sports/braves/stories/2009/04/12/braves_tom_glavine.html
Glavine says in this article that he had discomfort when swinging, which may have been true if it wasn't for his horrible pitching line so far. I think he's trying to make it seem better than it is. He's certainly determined to pitch again, huh?

unfortunetly it appears that way
shoulder injury + elbow recovery + not much left in the tank anyway isn’t a good combination for him
#34: You'll be missed!

Hanson Time!
Hopefully well see him on saturday
Baseball is a game where a curve is an optical illusion, a screwball can be a pitch or a person, stealing is legal and you can spit anywhere you like except in the umpire's eye or on the ball.

An Easter gift! Hopefully this means Hanson three months early as it should’ve been from the beginning. I’m glad we wasted several million figuring out Glavine was still worthless.
I also think Reyes comes up before Hanson. JoJo looked sharp in spring training and I’d imagine the Braves would like to get him some quality face time in the MLB. Given that our rotation for 2010 seems pretty much locked in (at least contract wise), the Braves could dangle Reyes as a tradeable asset later this summer if we are in a position to bring in another piece for a playoff run.
Nope.
Julio Teheran. Its time to quit coddling him and see what he’s got.

HE’S READY

Glavine
Damn quit hating on Glavine he gave a lot to the organization so have some respect…..Hope you heal soon Glavine
I agree completely. He’s earned the right to pitch for the Braves if anyone has.
And for Pete’s sake, Hanson isn’t going anywhere. Look, David Price was phenomenal for the Rays in the daggum World Series and they still sent him back to AAA. It’s what you do with a prized commodity. Can’t we all just be satisfied with a team that is 5-1 and capable guys in the starting rotation without rushing a kid up from AAA?
Whether it’s rushing or not is a matter of opinion. I’m not so sure that Reyes isn’t the fourth best option to make the starts Glavine was penciled in for going forward. I can certainly understand non-performance based reasons why Hanson wouldn’t get the call (not on the 40 man roster, hasn’t been stretched out enough, etc.), but his performance has shown him capable of pitching in the major leagues; at least as much as Morton and Reyes.
Glavine hasn’t earned the right to pitch if he’s going to pitch poorly. Avoiding the decision over whether to let Glavine be our 5th starter and hurt the team’s playoff chances or to hurt his feelings is certainly a boon for the Braves. That it had to come as a result of an injury is unfortunate. Ideally, his arm is shot, he’ll retire within a few weeks, and we can have a nice ceremony for him sometime this summer.
You better quiet down with that logic over there, it has no place within these cyberwalls.

Please Be Hanson Time!
I made the move and picked him up to stash him on my fantasy bench. It’s only a matter of time. We’ve allready seen Reyes. He’s done nothing to impress. Let’s start a petition to call Hanson up! lol.
Well Tommy G is the only pitcher ever in the history of baseball to have won the Cy Young and Silver Slugger awards in the same year TWICE.
Only other pitcher to both in the same year, Fernando Valenzuela that year he won every award except the MVP (which was Schmidt).
Granted the Silver Slugger Award hasn’t even been around for 30 years.
