Wow. Everyone but Borchard had at least two hits in this 'game.' Parr threw 83 pitches in his 4.1 innings and seems like he was just OK. Nothing else really to mention except for the catcher, Colina had a 2B, HR, 5 RBI and 3K. Go big or go home for him I guess.

Carolina 10, Mississippi 3

Scott Diamond was just OK in this one as well. This guy was lights out in two levels last year but he doesn't have top flight stuff so we will have to see how he handles  the litmus test that is AA. The MIssissippi offense is still trying to get underway with really only Campbell hitting consistently so far.

Wilmington 11, Myrtle Beach 9

Heyward and Freeman still aren't hitting much, but I'm not really worried. They are both professional hitters. I spoke of Linares a little today in my preview for the Pelicans. He is old for the league being a Cuban import, but he could post some numbers. Johnson now has as many homers as he does Ks and 3 strikeouts in 3 games is actually a massive improvement for him. He has 4 hits this season and they have all gone for extra bags.

Rome 1, Charleston 6

Keep an eye on Sumoza. He is dripping tools and he is a little old for this league so I think he will be the first to get a bump up to MB. Clemens (no relation to the dick) is supposed to have one of the best arms in the system pumping it up to 97 MPH (156 KPH for any Canadians in the house) but that doesn't always translate into profit. Like tonight. Hoover doesn't throw that hard but he definitely put up and Hanson line tonight didn't he? Watch him, because I am lazy.
