Atlanta Braves Minor League Recap: 4/10
Gwinnett 3, Charlotte 5 - F/7
- D. Hernandez 2-4 2 2B, 2 RBI, CS, E
- G. Blanco 1-4 K
- JoJo 6IP 7H 5R 1BB 2K
Rain shortened this game a little. Blanco has Ked 5 times in two games so far and JoJo pitched O.K. I know he gave up 5 runs but he went 1-2-3 in every inning but the 4th and 6th and he gave up all his runs in those innings. We will call it a fluke this time.
Carolina 5, Mississippi 4 (In Progress)
- G. Hernandez 2-4 BB
- M. Young 2-4 BB, 2 SB
- E. Campbell 1-4 RBI, 2 BB
- B. Hicks 2-2 3B, 2 RBI, 2 BB, SB
I don't really know when this game ended but I couldn't get the box score till Atlanta finished so whatever. But look at Brandon Hicks filling up the box score! Nice.
Wilmington 1, Myrtle Beach 3
- J. Heyward 0-4 2K
- F. Freeman 2-3 2B. RBI
- C. Johnson 1-3 HR(2), 2 RBI, K
- J. Locke 5IP 3H 0R 1BB 6K WP
Cody Johnson hates baseballs. And I hope he hates them all year. I know I have been one of his biggest detractors but seriosuly, he has tons of ability and if puts it together he could be almost as good as Heyward. Think of Heyward-Freeman-Johnson as our 3-4-5 guys. SICK. Anyways, Jeff Locke is the Braves pitcher this year that has the best chance to really jump on the national radar and tonight's game was as good as any game he pitched last year.
Rome 2, Charleston 4
- G. Rodriguez 2-4 RBI, 2K
- Jacob Thompson 4.1 3H 1R 1BB 3K
Gerrardo Rodriguez hit a lot of homers las season in the Appy league and he could do the same thing for Rome this year. He is an old 21 (He'll turn 22 right after the season ends this year so he might be a big old for the league, but if he batters the competition then he might get a promotion if the same happens to Freeman. Jacob Thompson was considered a steal for the Braves last year in the 5th Rd and he might move fast. Keep an eye or two on him.

Nice call on Locke yodaime4, that’s exactly how I feel about him. I’m seeing them next Saturday and Sunday and I just counted and realized Locke is pitching that Monday, so that sucks.

I live in Charleston WV and for some reason Rome doesn’t come to town all year long. What is up with that? The power go to rome, but they don’t come here. Shaft
I head up to Delmarva all the time and Rome hasn’t been there since Francoeur and McCann played for them. The league has 14 teams ranging from Georgia to New Jersey to Ohio. It’s massive and the teams tend to play three other opponents a ton and maybe one series against another 4. Delmarva plays Lake County, Lakewood, and Hagerstown about 327 times this year (which is sort of Ok since a guy I went to college with is with Lakewood).
So yeah, might be worth taking a trip down to Ashville or Greenville to see them.

Can't believe
Nobody mentioned this about Locke’s day today, which to me is the best part of his outing today. He had not a single fly ball out and 9 ground outs!
