Anderson or Schafer - Who's your CF?

Stay connected for news and updates

We are only a few games into spring training, but the CF battle already seems to be at full throttle. When it comes time to fill out the opening day CF card, who deserves the spot?

On one side we have Josh Anderson, a player with good contact ability and ridiculous speed and base stealing instincts. His .OBP is average, and his power is well below average. He has decent range in CF with a below average arm.

On the other side we have Jordan Schafer, a player with good .OBP skills and a decent amount of power potential in his bat. His speed is very high, but his stealing technique is flawed. He was excellent range and an excellent arm in CF.

Given the fact that whoever wins the CF spot may also end up being our leadoff hitter, who would you rather have? The guy with the better .OBP and power (Schafer)? The guy with the better base stealing ability and contact abilty (Anderson)? Does Schafers far superior defense push the scales? I would love to hear what you guys think.

On top of all this, we have the situation of Anderson being out of options. If and/or when he loses the CF spot do we make room for him be dropping Diaz, or do we risk putting him through waivers and losing him?
