Jay Gibbons anyone?

http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2009/03/marlins-release.html

Gibbons could come cheap and help out in RF if we wanted to platoon he who shall not be named.

I know some of you are going to say something like "well, but he's caught up in the 'roids" or, better yet, you'll say that he sucks.

he does suck.  but so did our outfield last year.  I have to tell you, G. Anderson is a good hitter, but is in the twilight of his career and he who shall not be named is a pretty mediocre ball player.  Not to mention what we may or may not have in CF.

I say we invite the guy to ST and see if he's got anything left.

No, thank you.

We’ve got enough guys to play the outfield without needing a washed-up juicer. A Francoeur/Gibbons platoon would be worse than Francoeur out there by himself.

Gibbons offers nothing. End of story.

Oh, Bobby.

I’d say yes to a minor league deal with time in camp, he’s hit over 300 so far in the Spring, and could be worth having around.
He isn’t an “Answer” to our needs, but truthfully if Norton get’s hurt who would we call up that could produce any pop as a pinch hitter?
Is there a 1b/Corner of type in AAA that could cover the spot?

And as a side note can we get the Richmond link on the side switched to the new AAA website?

Jay Gibbons

are we talking about the same jay gibbons that used to play for Baltimore of the american league? If so I think he would be great help for you know who in right field. Because lets face it people frenchie is no gamer . by that I mean he as well as everyone else makes some silly mistakes to. So Jay Gibbons is not the worse thing that could happen to the braves.

what do u mean Frenchy is not a gamer… if the defintion of a gamer is he goes out and plays everyday…. the only thing Frenchy is, is a gamer… say what u want about him (he sucks, his d is average at best, his arm is inacurrate… he has no clue how to not swing at bad pitches… he gf looks like a chipmunk) but dont doubt the fact that he is trying everyday he goes out there and had the longest current consecutive games streak in the majors until last year

Heyward,Hanson, and Shaffer r ready now!! Why do you think they havent signed the "right handed bat"?
