Spring Training Open Thread: Astros at Braves
The Braves take on the Astors at the Happies Place on Earth today at 1:05pm. This will be the only televised Braves spring training game until just before the start of the regular season. Jorge Campillo gets the start, followed by the guy everyone wants to see, Tommy Hanson.

I’ve been out of the office doing actual work all day-just got in after changing a blowout on the truck just a few miles from getting back to the office. At this point, i’m debating turning a blind eye and waiting to watch it on DVR when i get home. And i haven’t even got to play Spider Solitaire today!

MVP 05
hasnt been a good baseball game since this
by bravesguy311 on Feb 26, 2009 2:08 PM EST up reply actions
i had the same feeling
till i played 2k8. I love the pitching interface. Sure it was hard, but you felt rewarded when you finally mastered the system.
MVP ‘05 is good, but I’ll go out on a limb and say 2K9 will be better. I was very impressed with it. They got rid of the timing mechanism in the pitching interface that was in 2K8, and moved the mound further back. It makes it feel more realistic and you can actually take a walk.
"Loyal? I'm the most loyal player money can buy." - Don Sutton
I’m downloading it now. After buying 2K8 and being repulsed by it I don’t have high hopes. I wish I had a PS3 so I could play The Show. I actually bought The Show last year so I could play it on my roommate’s PS3.
I played the demo for The Show ‘09, too. It was okay, I couldn’t really tell a huge difference between ’08 and ’09.
"Loyal? I'm the most loyal player money can buy." - Don Sutton
The Show ’08 was hands down the best game since the MVP days. I played at least 300 games with my Road to the Show guy.
Shoot!!
I still play The Show 2007 for the PS2, I think I have played through the 2015 season with my player.

The only thing more ridiculous than an actual “Tiger Alert” on the bottomline is the fact that Gatorade is now referred to as “G”. Mind bottling.
I thought G
was like the gatorade’s vitamin water
"Have you ever had your heart broken?"
"Yeah, when we lost the pennant in '87."
via wikipedia, so you know its true
In 2009, Gatorade began a massive rebranding, resulting in new names for most of their products. Some products only had name changes:
* Original Gatorade is now known as Gatorade G.
* G2 received a minor name change to Gatorade G2.
* Gatorade Rain is now known as No Excuses.
what the hell is G2?
"Have you ever had your heart broken?"
"Yeah, when we lost the pennant in '87."
i like vitamin water more than any gatorade anyway…the XXX (pomegranate) VW is one of my favorite drinks, right up there with dr. pepper, cheerwine and cranberry ginger ale
XXX is awwwwwwwwwesome. And its got acai in it too, which is just devine.
If you’re in the mood for something obscenely sweet…V8 Vfusion acai mixed berry is a thing of beauty

Says the girl with the beat face holding a popsicle.
The REAL good popsicles are straight fruit juice. Edy’s FTW
SWAGGA LIKE BJONES, SWAGGA LIKE BJONES
wiki again
Also, in 2006, Gatorade introduced its Rain flavor line, which features a lighter, crisp taste similar to its Propel line but which comes in the bottle size and shape as the original Gatorade. In late 2007, a lower-calorie line of Gatorade drinks, named G2, was released.

Hey

Alright!! We came back!!!
I caught a couple innings on tv when we were down early on.
What happened!??!? (I’m sure that has been asked 50 times already)

Freeman’s a beast, and some assorted other details, etc, etc. I’ll be off to my mom’s basement to check the DVR here in a bit.
We should have signed Adam Dunn.

Damn, did the whole team go on Jenny Craig?
(Just now watching the recording) Even the Rev looks thinner…
Maybe even Glavine lost the gut
That would be nuts. Almost like Tom Hanks’ weight loss in ‘Cast/Away’. He would look alot younger if he lost it.

hopefully he doesn’t grow a beard and nappy hair and start talking to baseballs.
"Have you ever had your heart broken?"
"Yeah, when we lost the pennant in '87."
You got to do something to get people in the park.
In these times of economic crisis, we need all the showmanship we can get.
I think attendance will be strong this season
There seems to be a great buzz among Braves fans right now, along with what seems like a collective, renewed interest in the Bravos. This is the year we take it all back.
And if Glavine shows up 20 lbs lighter with a full beard, that would be awesome.

Currently we project to have a 0.00 IPBBSP (Innings Pitched by Bearded Starting Pitchers)
This does not bode well.
According to his press conference photos Derek Lowe was only scruffy. Maybe after Spring Training he will lose the razor and give us the stats we need.

That’s an under utilized stat.
We should have signed Adam Dunn.

So is FART (Fan Appreciation from pRior Team).
Last I checked, John Smoltz has a tepid .622 FART rating that reflects clearly on those who love and admire everything he did for he Braves, and those who now resent him for leaving and running his trap about criticizing the Braves.
No wonder nobody likes you, Tuttle... everything's a (Pujols) damn debate.
