We don't need Glavine!!!
We don't need Glavine period end of story. Wren is going to sign him to a 3 million dollar incitive based deal and he is just not worth that much money when the Braves need a power bat as badly as they need. I applaud Wren for signing three good pitchers this offseason, but it needs to stop there. I really and honestly don't see the purpose of this unless Wren is going to trade away some of the young talented arms we have for an outfielder. At the end of the day we just don't need him. Jorge pitched some great games last year and I would bet anybody that he is a way better pitcher then A 43 year old Glavine coming off of arm surgery. The same as with Jo jo, Hanson, or Reyes. Come on Wren!!!

Glavine
Eh, I think its time for him to hang them up. He wants to continue to pitch but he should go down the Maddux road. He has nothing left to prove, he’s a 1st ballot HOF. Go in the same year with Maddux, bud..
#34: You'll be missed!
It would have been really nice to see Smoltz, Glavine, and Maddox enter the hall on the same day, and they did it juice free could have been the headline.

8 mill?
Screw that. Lock him up for the next half-decade. 5 yrs/1 billion dollars.

Why ??? Glavine ??
I completely agree with “That a Boy” Glavine is not really what the Braves need at this time ?? I mean are their going to stick Campillo in the bullpen?? And is Nick Swisher really that good ??? I guess Wren must know something that we don’t any way GO BRAVES !!!

You could do a lot worse for a #5. It’s not like we’re breaking the bank. Jo-Jo, Morton et al. have inspired little confidence. I’m thinking Campillo steps in as #4 when Kawakami implodes. Yes, I’m calling it now: Kawakami will tank.

if his performances over his career span in Japan mean anything, we can at least count on him not giving up many walks (less than two per NINE innings!)…
But what about Vazquez and Lowe?

After last season, sign every pitcher we can…I think Glavine can have a respectable year…
