Royals Sign Two More Ex-Braves
OF Damon Hollins, who was a Braves prospect a long time ago, and LHP Nelson Payano, who pitched for the Braves a few years ago in the minors. The blogger at the other end of the link above even makes fun of the Royals for signing former Braves players. Apparently the Royals also sign a lot of former White Sox and Mariners players.

Man, haven’t seen Damon in years. I kind of though he’d just stay over in Japan and make good money. And he’s still only 35. He played parts of 7 seasons for Richmond. Still, talented player, probably should have had more big league time as a 4th outfielder.

I think I still have his 1994 Bowman rookie card somewhere
Did he put up good numbers in Japan? I haven’t heard his name in years and years.

Apparently he was with the Royals this past year too. I guess he was actually only in Japan for one year, 2007, and in 124 games he hit .254 with 12 homers and 54 RBI, which is pretty much what he did in the States in AAA each year.
I liked that year’s Bowman, they used to look a lot nicer. I just looked and I have 32 different types of cards signed by Damon. Crazy. Interesting side note, I’d forgotten I had 7 different cards signed by Matt Holliday.

Damn son
Impressed and awed at the same time. The grand sprawl of your collection must be amazing (this is not sarcasm, my apartment looks like James Earl Jones’ house in The Sandlot).

Haha, it takes up a bit more room that I’d want but I hardly think it’s enough to awe anyone. I like to keep them in the 9 card pages in binders though, so that’s always fairly impressive for anyone who knows enough to actually appreciate them.

In other news, the sun came up today and is expected to set at some point tonight.

Now they're needing OFs...
so I think I found our trade partner once Heyward or Schafer or both arrive midseason.
