Lowe talks about staying in Atlanta
Lowe talks about his problems last year, nixed the idea of moving him to the pen and mentioned he wants to stay in Atlanta. I just thought there might be some people around here interested in reading it.

Since he wants to stay and recognizes there are holes to fill, he should do what Chipper did and offer to restructure his contract for the good of the team. But somehow I doubt that will happen.
Don’t make him put his money where his mouth is…
"My team of nine guys who hit like Albert Pujols and never ever bunt just beat your team with one Shane Victorino 472 to 3."

He'd have to clear anything like that with the Player's Union.
When Chipper did it, he worked it based on getting his option years guaranteed and adding a vesting option on to the end, so he was getting more guaranteed money, just over a longer period of time.
They don’t just let players give guaranteed money back.
Which is another reason the Union sucks – if someone signs a contract, they can damn well restructure it however they see fit. It has nothing to do with anyone but the player in question and the team he is dealing with.

I am completely unfamiliar with any specific terms of the current collective bargaining agreement that might apply to a fairly negotiated, mutually consented to restructuring an individual player’s contract. But given the inherent creativity of lawyers, it would very much surprise me if it was impossible to do.
