I saw this on PTI and thought it was kinda interesting...the videos they showed of this girl's knuckle curve had crazy movement.

Does anyone more knowledgeable than I know if any of our guys will face her?

According to the article it sounds like a league for people who either want to become professionals or who have been but need a showcase to get signed again. Nobody who’s currently affiliated would actually be playing in it. I remember hearing about this girl a few years ago. Personally I think it would be great if a woman made it to the Majors, since I think baseball is the only sport, at least with physiologies as they are now, that a woman could concievably play in.

So you're not down with David Stern and women in the NBA?

Overheard in press box, from local reporter: 'If this Moore kid was any good, they'd be up 31-0 right now.'

I’m down with it, I’m just not sure women’s bodies are down with it. The reality is that you’re not going to see a woman center or power forward, because centers and power forwards in the WNBA are like 6’6". They’re just not big enough or strong enough to tangle. So really you’d be more likely to see a point guard, which is plausible since guys like Mugsey Bouges and Earl Boynkins have played in the league, but still, a woman’s body isn’t built to take abuse like a man’s particularly when it’s a smaller woman.
I think the day to day physical strain for a woman would be less in baseball, if only because it rarely involved direct physical opposition with an opponent. It’s more of a grind which can be partly mental.

All due respect...

how many in the WNBA can dunk? Now how many in the NBA can? Even in a Steve Kerr like shooter role, the speed, size/length and strength of the NBA is too much for a woman. It’d be ugly.

I know.

I certainly am on the same page.

It is possible...

To have a knuckle ball women to be good enough to pitch effective in the MLB. Though would baseball ever accept this notion in accepting a woman to actually play with the boys…. Not that far fetch but it will be interesting how she will develop….If it does ever happen it will be in Japan first before MLB will ever consider it and will most likely never in our life time but who knows…

i've always wondered about females in MLB

anyone know anything else about females in the MLB? Have any of them actually hit the 90s when it comes to pitching?
