LaRoche seeking 3 year, $31.5 M deal
Don't expect Adam to accept that one year deal in the next few days.

He's the best 1B on the market...
I hope he gets it. Maybe not that much, but a 3 yr guaranteed deal, considering his solid for a 6th/7th hitter level production, seems about right for someone his age with the lack of non-questionable options out there.
Well, I guess we can start looking elsewhere, unless we can trade Lowe and get someone to eat most of his contract.
I wouldn’t mind having Adam on a mutli-year deal as a backup plan for Freddie. Having a 3rd year included makes him even more valuable as a trade peice in July if Freeman works out in 2011. Teams will pay more for a player knowing that they can control him for another year.
Having said that, and knowing Adam and his relationship with the Braves, I wonder if a 2 year/$16-18M offer with a mutual option for the 3rd year at $11M could sway him?

Too much money… I prefer Russell Branyan… is cheaper and has more pop, although I don’t how he is defensively

LaRoche is a more reliable choice though...
Branyan was suspect until this past year, and he’s said to both be wanting to stay with Seattle, and already turned down a one year offer from them.
Branyan is from here, though. Anytime he does something good, his dad sends in an article to the local paper in Greensboro, Ga.

maybe we can pit Branyan against LaRoche...
against Cameron too, who will take the biggest hometown discount?
Branyan's good enough at 1st.
But he’s been a butcher at third most of his career.
Overheard in press box, from local reporter: 'If this Moore kid was any good, they'd be up 31-0 right now.'
