Sure does. Let’s hope he pitches like him too. I’m not basing this on anything and maybe it’s just sample size but it seems like a RHP would need a really nice change-up in order to have that kind of success against lefties.

that was my initial reaction as well

Heyward,Hanson, and Shaffer r ready now!! Why do you think they havent signed the "right handed bat"?

How many talented young arms under the age of 25...

do we have? Damn. Maybe Jair Jurrjens does project to a back of the rotation starter, with Hanson, Teheran, and others filling the front end.

A season ago, Cole Rohrbough was a “sure thing” to settle into one of those spots. Shows how quickly prospects can come and go…

But is Rohrbough done?...

He had a bad year, but he still fits among that group of talented young arms and could easily vault up the charts if he can cure what ails him.

He certainly can come back...

Here's a nice scouting report

For Lopez from Johnny Almaraz:

Robinson Lopez – RHP – Another 18-year-old from the Dominican, Lopez is already 6’1" and weighs in at 185 pounds. He’ll be spending this summer in the Gulf Coast League. “At such a young age, Robinson is kind of similar to (Julio) Teheran in that he commands all of his pitches,” Almaraz explained. “He throws strikes with quality stuff. He’s got a fastball that is 92 to 96 mph. Robinson is pretty advanced, so he’s got the ability to compete at this level (GCL).”

This was before this past season

Almaraz made this statement back in March and there have been several reports from scouts that Lopez was sitting 94-96 and touched 98 a few times.

thank you …i was wondering where he projects to start the season in 2010… low A?… short season ball again?

I’m thinking he’s on the same path as Teheran, except one year behind, meanign its Low A for him 2010

We'll find out soon

I heard Lopez is pitching very well down in instructs so he could very well start in Rome but I think they may take it slow with him and start him in Danville with all the guys possibly moving up to Rome and MB.

he is gonna be 19 this year… so Danville woudl still be appropriate… probably
