Minor League Free Agents
There are several good minor league free agents on the market and this is a list of some that the organization should look at as possibilities to bring up to the majors next year. The Braves also have one or two of their own that they could resign. Both are listed below.
1. 1B Andy Tracy (Phillies)
2. 1B Ole Sheldon (Cleveland)
3. 1B Brett Harper ( Dodgers)
4. OF Brad Snyder (Cubs)
5. CL Mariano Gomez (Braves)
6. 3B Kody Kirkland (Braves)
Just to name a few.

Kody Kirkland
I saw him play in Gwinnett and I was underwhelmed by him. While his defense seemed to be pretty solid, his bat was basically nonexistant. Mariano Gomez was serviceable this year, but he could probably use some more time in the minors. I don’t know much about the other guys…

He is still in the league? Wasn’t he very highly thought of at one point?

Intriguing.
If Albert played in the AFL, they’d have to rename it the AZ/NM Fall League, based on where his homers landed.

Watching him in AAA the last few years, well, he sucks. His defense isn’t that great and nothing about a .602 OPS with no speed makes me want him either.

We already have another post on this, but so it’s here too, I also would think about Jason Dubois, Wes Banston, and Ambriorix Concepcion.
Others suggested which I’d heartily endorse are: Ruben Gotay and Dallas MacPherson.

I really wish you had explained why you like each guy.
My response:
1. I love Andy Tracy. He’s an outstanding person and a great 4A player. He’d be a nice pickup for insurance.
2. Ole Sheldon? Why? He’s too old, too fat and he’s never even played AAA. I guess if we needed a AA DH he’d be Ok. What a random name.
3. Harper’s more of a DH type too, but at least he’s proven something at a high level. I doubt his homer’s translate outside the power happy PCL, but he’d still be a good pickup.
4. I like Snyder. Good rangy outfielder. He’s nothing special but he’d be a good AAA player.
5. I covered Gomez in the story on this topic the other day. Why not bring him back, he was great for Gwinnett.
6. Again, Kirkland? Of all the guys on the list? I like his versatility, but his offense is a black hole.

Explanation
I chose Andy Tracy because he had good numbers in the minors and ok numbers in the majors and he seems like he could be a similar pickup to Johny Estrada who was not used becuase of Liberthal in this case Andy has been limited because of Ryan Howard.
Gomez was obviously because of his good numbers in AAA.
Kirkland would be more of a backup for Chipper. Defensively he would fill the void if needed.
Sheldon, Harper and Snyder were statistically apealing. Other than that I did not go to in depth into there bios.
