Great, good, excellent, prove everyone wrong. Us skeptics who are fans of the team would want nothing more than for him to become more than we expect (a #3-4 pitcher in the mold of Jamie Moyer). Become Tommy Glavine. I root for him every time he pitches. But I still maintain that there were better options available at #7 and I hold in my criticism of the FO for the ‘signability’ pick.
Tom Glavine didn't have his stuff...
He’s said to have a better fastball, and 4 quality pitches while Glavine was VERY dependent on the circle change.
I just don’t get the idea that a lefty with his makeup and pitches gets dumped on for not being good enough.
I was referring to Glavine’s success, rather than his ability. And your statement about me ‘dumping on him for not being good enough’ is a mischaracterization, unless you mean that I don’t think he’s good enough to be a #7 pick, which I DO think; that’s pretty rarefied air and very very few prospects are that good.
I have a very specific gripe: I believe, from what I’ve seen, read, heard, etc., that there were better options available at the #7 pick in the draft than Minor. Do I believe that he can be a capable, even good, starter in the majors? Absolutely. Not a doubt in my mind. Do I think we could have gotten better value at the #7 pick? Yes. Matzek, Purke, and Miller, specifically.

we'll see in the long run...
who the better “value” was at 7.

I’m with roy clark who also wanted Matzek, but I’d put Minor on about equal footing as Purke and Miller. I think behind Strasburg, Matzek was probably the best talent at pitcher but Minor has looked fairly impressive, I’ll give him that

And the heater clocking in at 93 MPH!?
Very good article. Thanks.
I want to meet these people who say that, because the things they say — it’s usually the people who don’t watch baseball, who think they know things when they really don’t."
Hey, did you guys know that scouts dont watch baseball?
hohohhohohoh its the offseason, time to rosterbate in public places
He’s definately got a chip on his shoulder, lets just hope he can translate all that confidence into results.
