Who are you rooting for in the playoffs?
It seems as though the darkness has swept over this once-ecstatic world series bound town of St. Louis. Its very difficult, as well as dangerous, to NOT follow and root for the Cardinals if you take residence here. Red covered everything, half days and early clockouts expected, Pujols jerseys accepted as "business casual" this week, and sales and deals on ANYTHING a seller can spin as playoff related (2nd Big Mac for free on Cards game days, Playoff Pitcher (of beer) deals, and red colored foods that dont need to be)..... I'm obviously pushing for the Cards to make it and win it. Busch Stadium also opens up all doors after the 7th inning, playoffs or regular season, so if the WS makes it here again, we all get to PARTY for the ends of the games. For free.
Just wondering where Braves fans' leftover emotions are pushing them this year....
Who are you rooting for?

I’m more rooting against than rooting for: against the Yankees because I hate the idea of their buying a championship, against the Phillies secondly because of their division rivalry with the Braves, against the Dodgers because they’re the Dodgers, against the Cardinals because of Larussa and because I’d like to see Smoltz fail to win a championship after turning down the Braves’ reasonable offer to sign with Boston for more money and a better shot at the playoffs, against the Red Sox because they are fast becoming another Yankees, against the Twins because of ‘91. I don’t have anything particular against the Angels, so I’d be content to see them win the AL. I could understand why other Braves fans would root against the Rockies based on this year’s wild card race, but I have family in Colorado, so I am rooting for them to win the NL. I’d like to see the Rockies over the Angels in the World Series.
I was pulling for the Cards in the NL, and let the hate come, but the Yankees in the AL
(Yunel is still the Queen of Hearts)
cards are down, but not out, and Yanks are going to kill. should be interesting.
(Yunel is still the Queen of Hearts)
haha.. you can only hold out for so long when you exposed to Yankee crap all day. I hate rooting for the Yankees, but i just always find myself rooting for them. I hate doing it, but I do root for them when it is non-Braves related
(Yunel is still the Queen of Hearts)
the Yankees
are good baseball entertainment. Their roster is loaded w/some of the best baseball talent in the game so they’re fun to watch. It’s also fun to watch them fall on their face knowing ownership spent all that cash on said roster. I’m pulling for the Cards in the NL & Angels in the AL. I believe the Angels are driven by Adenharts memory which makes for a great story. I hope the Phillies bite the dust.
In order
1. Angels
2. Twins
3. Cardinals
4. Rockies
5. Yankees
6. Dodgers

I would love to see the Twins do well.
but I almost always root for the NL team in the WS on principle… we’ll see what happens.
Mat Gamel is way too cool for double consonants.
I have a question...
how in the world can any Braves fan root for the Twins since the 1991 World Series? I hope the Twins lose in the first round, and then I wish for Chuck Knoblauch to fall down the stairs.

If that's the case
How do you prioritize who you want to lose more, between the Twins and the Yankees who beat us in 95 and 99?
No wonder nobody likes you, Tuttle... everything's a (Pujols) damn debate.
Haha a good question,
the Braves have so many playoff rivals.
But I prioritize by what was the bigger heartbreak. Don’t get me wrong, 96 was a HUGE heartbreak, that series was ours, but at least after the 96 series we could say “well at least we won it last year…”
But trust me, I hope the Yankees lose 4 straight in the ALCS.

Because that was one of the best World Series ever, and I cannot help but appreciate how good that Twins team was that beat us…I mean, seriously? A game 7 that is 0-0 going into extra innings???
If anything, that series should have made more of us respect and root for the Twins.

…but why would you root for somebody who beat us in the World Series just because the series and team was good?

Why wouldn’t you? I don’t know about you, but I appreciate good baseball.

THIS
As a fan of the game I watch the playoffs religiously every year whether we make it or not. Boston is my other-league team, so they were my first choice. Fat lot of good that does now. That leaves me rooting for anyone playing the Yankees, and the Dodgers simply because I can’t root for the Phils and because I love Andre Ethier (except when he’s playing us. He and his walkoff homers can eat hot death.) because I’ve watched him blossom on my fantasy teams over the last couple of years.
I don’t enjoy watching Yankee baseball. The 11th inning of game two nearly made me throw up. Traitor Tex hits a wallscraper (which would have stayed in ANY other park; New Yank is a effin’ joke of a park) a half-inning after a blind ump 15 feet from the play blew a call to rob this year’s AL MVP of a double? It’s not fun, it’s not honorable, it takes all the meaning out of all the heart Minnesota had put in to that game, and that series.

Here’s what I’d like to see:
Rockies over Phils, Cards over Dodgers
Cards over Rockies
Twins over Yanks, Angels over BoSox
Angels over Twins
Cards over Angels in the WS.
lol. Cards are almost out. Go Dodgers.

when i was young i spent summers watching baseball with both of my grandmothers. i watched the Braves with my grandmother who lived in Morven (near Valdosta) and i watched the Dodgers with my grandmother who lived in Los Angeles. Even though i cant stand Manny, i’ll have to go with the Dodgers in the playoffs.
Cards are out of it in 3
Didn’t see that one coming, if I had coulda made some money as the odds were in STL’s favor.I’m hoping for the Dodgers and the Angels in a freeway world series and the Dodgers lose because Manny’s on their team and Mike Sciosia’s not. To Hell with the Yankees and Phillies and Red Sox.
Senator, we have another old saying,"Don't piss down my back and tell me it's raining." Fletcher
Such a damn shame to see the Red Sox get swept. Really sad stuff, especially seeing Papelbon blow it. Poor guy.

Poor Twins....
they played 163 to get in and then quickly got swept aside.
"My God! Good news fans, the Braves are showing signs of life for the first time in weeks. As a matter of fact, they appear to be beating the crap out of each other."
Its also a wonderful decision to schedule the Colorado/Philly game for the nighttime game. 31 degrees, going into the 20’s later in the game? Talk about miserable playing conditions.

Another reason we should've made the playoffs...
it’s a reasonable 66 F in Atlanta right now.
