Free Agent signing that could single handedly put us in the World Series.

http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/

Longtime Rangers hitting coach Rudy Jaramillo turned down a one-year offer from the team and will explore free agency, according to Evan Grant.

Star-divide

Rudy could improve our offense without spending huge money comparatively.  He would not only come cheaper than a position player, and unlike just adding a hitter he would be able to help the offense at every spot in the batting order as well as the bench.  Thought?

Piggybacked off your joke. the tree fitty thing is Chef’s dad, my quote is Chef’s mom, who pauses right in the middle of exorcising Kenny’s soul from Cartman’s body because the kitchen timer goes off. She scurries off muttering that and more under her breath while Chef’s dad starts barking about “Well hold on the meat a minute they-ah, wermun! The soul’s comin out nyuh!”

And yes, i am a SP junkie.

Chef’s parents have only been in like 2 or 3 episodes, but GOD they’re funny. They and Ike are both underutilized on that show.

The succubus (sp?) episode was on last night

It heavily involved the Loch Ness Monster inquiring for Chef’s parents to give him tree fitty

Yep

that’s where the “tree fitty” joke originated. It’s touched on again in the “biggest douche in the universe” episode when they go to Scotland to get Cartman exorcised. That exorcism episode is one of my all-time favorites.

Here are Pujols's stats: 1.000/1.000/4.000/5.000. That's right. He is batting a thousand, with a thousand OBP (naturally), and every hit has been a home run, and thus his OPS is a perfect 5.000.

Thats what I thought but you still need some professional hitters….You think this guy is going to turn Greg Norton’s career around????? Doubt it, but I’ll take him..

by AlRoBraves95 on Oct 14, 2009 11:23 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

If we improve on what we have there would be no reason to improve Norton, and really if your going to talk about Norton’s carer you should use it all, In which he has been a successful pinch hitter not just last season.

C-McCann-Ross-Sammons (This turns Ross into the #1 pinch hitter and the fact that Sammons can’t hit doesn’t matter since we will never use the last catcher as a pinch hitter anyways).

1-??? Laroche or any of the many hitters avaliable.

2- Prado-Johnson

3- Chipper

Doubt It

Maybe if this had happen next year, but I read as long as Cox is still there Terry P. will be the hitting instructor. It don’t matter how bad our hitting is unless it is obvious to everyone in the baseball world Cox won’t make a move.I think this guy would improve our hitting but Cox loyality will remain with Terry sorry.I do agree with you though on this one.

by BravesMania on Oct 14, 2009 9:39 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

I think Chipper might benefit from such a move like this.Being that our offense struggled so bad this past season we could use his services.I hate to say such things about Terry being he was here in our glory days.He was a Brave when he won MVP so I do consider him a Brave.I for one want to see this team back in the playoffs so I hope Wren consider all possible moves to improve this ball club.

Jaramillo is hugely overrated. His work with Andruw and Jeffy accomplished basically nothing. We can already get that from Pendleton without spending millions of dollars.

by redwards95 on Oct 15, 2009 11:03 AM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Yes seriously. Any hitting coach whose hitters hit in Arlington is going to look like a genius while he’s there.

by redwards95 on Oct 15, 2009 1:22 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Why not

I kind of agree with this. Kind of, because I don’t think that we could get the same from TP, but the fact is, I think Jaramillo is overrated too.

How many of you knew who Rudy Jaramillo was prior to 2009? And be honest. I certainly didn’t. But especially to Braves fans, he became this revered name, because he supposedly “fixed” Andruw Jones and Jeff Francoeur, but the last time I checked, Andruw rode the bench most of 2009, and Francoeur almost showed some promise before falling back into his misery before being run out of town, where sure, he showed some faint promise again, but it’s Francoeur, so I’m waiting for the other shoe to drop.

Would I be glad to see the Braves go out and get Rudy? Sure, why not. But if they don’t, which is likely, I’m not going to lose any sleep over it.

No wonder nobody likes you, Tuttle... everything's a (Pujols) damn debate.

by royhobbs on Oct 15, 2009 12:45 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

yeah, andruw still hit .214 this year, don’t thing he fixed much of anything there

by Hcgadawgs on Oct 15, 2009 2:09 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

he is also credited with Mark DeRosa’s success…which is pretty substantial… including hte fact that he has hit outside of Arlington, and was not that great when he started here.

I’m not saying i want Jaramillo or not, but its not just his work with FYF and Andruw… his work with those two is blown out of proportion for the reasons listed here by others, but that certainly doesnt mean he isnt good at his job.

Heyward,Hanson, and Shaffer r ready now!! Why do you think they havent signed the "right handed bat"?

I for one, would take him over TP any day. That said,TP will probably be with the Braves at least through next season. When Bobby retires, I feel FW will replace him.

Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind.

Jason Bay?

Oh, a hitting coach known for teaching people to hit homers in a tiny hitter’s park? Nah, I doubt it, unless he can hit 35 homers and play left field.

by FineHamAbounds on Oct 15, 2009 2:10 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

I think you're overstating the impact of a hitting coach.

I really don’t think he’d make that much of a difference.
