At this point, you've got to hate the Rockies that much more
Damn you, Ryan Howard. I was screaming at the tv, "Don't. Pitch. To. Him."

If anyone wants to make a shirt with Ryan Howard on the front with “I HATE RYAN HOWARD” on it, i’ll probably buy one.

I will probably catch a lot of flak for this. I want the Phillies to win the World Series. I do not want another American League victory in something else that I will have to hear about from Joe Morgan or Joe Buck or any other ass of a broadcaster. I do not want Manny to win anything to compensate him for the fact he is no longer a man. Finally, although the Phillies won the WS last year, not many consider them a favorite to win this year. The Phillies are considered an underdog to many other teams (Yankees, Dodgers). Also, there is no Phillies Nation that has sprung up to annoy me.

I’ll agree with you that there aren’t any (known) cheaters on the Phillies… but having them win back to back championships would suck.
Besides Manny, the Dodgers are a solid team. They’re also fun to watch.

I remember after last years WS win, Cole Hammels got on the mic and said that he wanted to congratulate the Rays on a great season. The Philly fans all started booing.
I just can’t hope for a team with fans like that to win, NL pride or not.

Blasphemy. Let ANYBODY win the series but Phillie. 2 years in a row would not be cool. Even the Yankees over Phillie.

Angels all the way...
Yankees are obvious no, Phillies are a division rival who I’d rather not have the luxury of another bump in what they can pay thanks to the revenue earned in the post season, and the Dodgers, like you say have people like Manny and Furcal and others who just aren’t easy to cheer for after their early season/offseason actions.
Go Angels! Especially considering Adenhart.

You know
If it were to come to a Phillies/Yankees World Series, consider me the biggest single-serving Yankee fan on the planet. I can’t accept the Phillies as world champions two years in a row.
I honestly don’t see why so many people hate the Yankees (or claim to) as much as they do. The reasons are becoming so diluted and rehashed to me, I’m having a hard time telling who’s genuine, or who’s just following the herd.
So they spend boatloads of money? They do because they can, and the desire for money and wealth is what brings top-tier talent there. So what? If they lose, it makes the team that beat them that much a better story. If they win, it shouldn’t be much of a surprise.
So they (try to) make their players, regardless of reputation, nameless and self-sufficient employees designated by numbers and set to standards and guidelines? Welcome to Corporate America.
Here’s the irony – given the remaining teams, I’d rather the Angels go all the way, but if Philly were to advance, which I think they will, I think the Yankees are better equipped to deny them the crown. I think I’ll just sit back and root against the Phillies, nothing more.

Yeahhhhh…………..but 26 WS titles doesn’t come from luck. It comes from an unfair advantage. I mean, there has to be a limit somewhere. Whether it’s 150 mil, 200 mil, or whatever.
The next closest team has 10 WS titles. However you slice that, the inevitable conclusion is, “Hmmmm…..you know, maybe it isn’t as fair as it should be.”

A willingness to spend isn't "unfair"
If anything is considered unfair, it’s owners who don’t really care as much about the team and winning, as much as they see a team as a profitable business venture. Just because the Steinbrenners are willing to unload boatloads of money into the Yankees into individual players that other teams aren’t willing to match or beat doesn’t always imply that it’s not possible.
To many throughout the 90s, the Atlanta Braves were the Yankees of the National League, when Ted Turner was making sure the Braves had the highest payroll in the NL, and there was a lot of (and still is) resentment towards the Braves that exists similarly to why people dislike the Yankees. I don’t think a whole lot of people complain when their teams are overspending…
And let’s not deny the existence of luck, because luck is a little necessary for every team to win, regardless if they’re spending $40mil or $220mil. Otherwise, the Braves should have more NL titles than they do already, and possibly more WS banners.
No wonder nobody likes you, Tuttle... everything's a (Pujols) damn debate.

True enough.
Here’s hoping for a Golden State Series. Dodgers vs Angels. And at that point, I think the Angels get pwned.

You asked for it...
how can you want the Phillies to win?! Everything is wrong and immoral about that statement. The Phillies are our NL east rival, first of all. Then you have the fact that everything about Philadelphia sucks – after they won the WS last year, the fans went and vandalized their own city like a bunch of morons. The fans have no class, and can you imagine how annoying the fans would be if Philly won back to back years?
I don’t know about you, but I’ll take anyone BUT Philly in the Series.

If Street didn’t walk Utley than Howard wouldn’t have mattered.
BTW, how was that Rockies guy not outside the base path when he jumped over Utley’s glove?
Here are Pujols's stats: 1.000/1.000/4.000/5.000. That's right. He is batting a thousand, with a thousand OBP (naturally), and every hit has been a home run, and thus his OPS is a perfect 5.000.

Dexter Fowler
7.08 Any runner is out when—
(a) (1) He runs more than three feet away from his baseline to avoid being tagged unless his action is to avoid interference with a fielder fielding a batted ball. A runner’s baseline is established when the tag attempt occurs and is a straight line from the runner to the base he is attempting to reach safely; or
(2) after touching first base, he leaves the baseline, obviously abandoning his effort to touch the next base;
(b) He intentionally interferes with a thrown ball; or hinders a fielder attempting to make a play on a batted ball
On the play in question, Dexter Fowler was not trying to avoid the tag.

Oops
But he was trying to avoid interference with a fielder fielding a batted ball. I’m not really sure he went three feet away from his baseline anyways.
You can check it out here if you missed it.
