DeVall?
DeVall
I was just wondering about his status as of late.I followed the minor league games pretty close and he made a few starts but was placed on the 7 day DL.I even read on what site I forget but it stated he was having problems with his arm or elbow and Tommy John might be in his future.I was wondering if this info was true or not being that there are more informed Braves fans than I.I haven't seen too many posts about him as of late on this site but I was hoping some of the guys who operates this website might know and share the info.I did see Stovall had a decent season pretty good ERA but his walks were high.I know the Braves are high on these two lefties I hope they can get it together pretty quickly and help out the Braves.

Not sure the etiquitte with this...
but with google, I found this on another Braves blog….
http://bravesheart.com/2009/09/17/season-in-review-rome/
Couple of tidbits in there of interest…
On Devall—"Brett DeVall, the Braves first round pick in 2008 who is still only 19, sustained an arm injury in June, and it was heard (somewhere) that he underwent Tommy John surgery and will miss most (probably all) of 2010. "
And continuing the conundrum of Zeke Spruill’s demotion—“Spruill’s overall numbers for the season would look a lot more impressive if not for a one month exodus to the GCL in August, which no one is too sure about what happened there”

Good looking out man, pretty good piece of info you got there.

I have been wondering that same thing for months!

Smoltz Beard new his stuff. I thought he was one of the most intelligent bloggers on here. Personally, I found bigjoe funny and annoying. You couldn’t say anything without him insulting you or trying to make you feel like a moron. I still remember when he was bashing me cause I wanted to trade KJ for Ryan Ludwick. Good times…

I think SB just got a little burnt out on the site. He told me during that Baltimore game back in July he was tired of the negativity. I don’t know, I with he’d come back, he definitely knows his stuff and makes it fun.
And bigjoe is just working his site, he’s still our bigjoe.

i dont blame him
the same thing happened to me last year…i joined this site in july 07 (according to my profile anyway) but i stopped posting early in the 2008 season…it just got too negative…i came back last off season and nearly left again when it got negative again.
"If I have asthma, they won't let me scuba. And if I can’t scuba, then what’s this all been about?? What am I working toward??"
negativity seems to spread like wildfire. I’m usually pretty laid back, but even I was becoming a bit negative down the stretch (before that nice winning streak).
Yeah, I don’t really like being or feeling negatively towards the Braves. Maybe too many spoiled fans from the championship days. I wonder how a Yankees board goes when they don’t win a world series every year?
Anywho, what’s not to be positive about? The Braves just need one power bat and maybe some bullpen help depending on if Soriano and Gonzalez both leave.
Plenty of upside in the minors. I’m gonna say that Devall didn’t have the surgery. I guess there might be many factors, but if Devall just escaped from having TJ surgery, does anyone think he’ll continue to have arm/elbow issues until he does end up needing the surgery? Seemed Smoltz had plenty of injuries leading up to his TJ surgery, or I could be remembering incorrectly.

He's dead
I went back up to Virginia and I beat him at Street Fighter so badly, he couldn’t bear to live, and he threw himself off of a cliff in Great Falls, and his rotting carcass is floating somewhere in the Atlantic Ocean after being nibbled and picked at by snakehead fish in the Potomac River.

bigjoe is…
-Busy with his girlfriend
-Busy with 15 credits this semester at shitty times
-Busy working 3 mornings a week
-Busy watching about football
-Busy brainstorming things to write about on my blog
-Busy watching and burning fights
And quite frankly, the negativity and idiocy just pushed me over the edge.
I haven’t talked to Beard all that much…we did some texting during the attempted playoff run before the epic collapse, thats about it. We talk beer on Facebook every so often though.
Girlfriend? Whoever hacked your account and told these lies doesn’t even know you very well…

sorta
got annoyed with the continued rudeness on the board and started dreaming of the simpler days of yore when the worst thing you would read was about a big giant member and a rusty nail…
"If I have asthma, they won't let me scuba. And if I can’t scuba, then what’s this all been about?? What am I working toward??"
my point exactly
"If I have asthma, they won't let me scuba. And if I can’t scuba, then what’s this all been about?? What am I working toward??"
Ironic thing is
The rudeness was always present then and now, it’s just there’s a bigger fluctuation of readership these days that causes inflammatory topics and discussions to constantly pop up, re-lighting the same old arguments and debates time in and time out.
No wonder nobody likes you, Tuttle... everything's a (Pujols) damn debate.
that's very true
The other problem is when people have the inability to walk away from an argument, so they keep rehashing the same stuff over and over. Usually, I’ll just avoid that particular thread, but then there are times when it seems to spread to the entire board…
"If I have asthma, they won't let me scuba. And if I can’t scuba, then what’s this all been about?? What am I working toward??"
I blame Martin Prado

why I said not sure the thoughts on posting other blog...
stuff here. And it seems wishy washy on Devall. Says he has Tommy John surgery, but just that it was heard, somewhere, not anything close to definitive. I do remember reading articles in the Rome newspaper though alluding to the possibility he could have Tommy John, but never that he actually had the surgery.
As an update, I know DeVall had surgery today, so I’m guessing this is true and he’ll be out for a bit. If it was TJ he’s gonna miss all of 2010.

Surgery
According to his facebook, DeVall did in fact have surgery. Doesn’t mention what kind, but one can assume it’s TJ considering the rumors. Oh well.
