Let's take it down a notch
I do really enjoy all the people who comment on Talking Chop. I've always thought that many of the comments posted on here go far beyond just the ordinary blathering fan chatter on the interwebs. I'm a fan of insightful comments and honest opinions, but there's been a bit more creeping in lately. I don't know if it's the supreme frustration with this off-season or wintertime boredom, but there have been far too many petty personal attacks happening recently. I realize some of this can be attributed to some trolls, but in an open community like this there are always going to be the unfortunate troll or two. Beyond just the random weirdo, there seems to be more name calling and unnecessary profanity laced assaults taking place. ...this needs to stop.
I allow a pretty open and unedited community -- moreso than most of the blogs on SBN. I don't mind the occaisional cuss word, in fact I appreciate the art of creatively using colorful metaphors. Everything though, has its limits, and I don't want to see anyone turned off by the immaturity of a few.
This is a collective warning to take it down a notch. Not as much cussing, no personal attacks, no mindless bickering about what someone meant to say. I don't mean to scold, and I don't want to lessens anyone's eagerness to participate, but I felt I needed to say something before things got out of hand.
This FanPost does not express the views or opinions of Talking Chop.

Guilty As Charged.
I apologize for taking things too far from time to time and will simply try to ignore the stuff that has set me off in the past. You run a good site and I’d hate to be a demerit to it.

I haven’t been here long, but humility is a trait I hold in high regard.

You know what, I hope you get raped with…wait, what? Oh, sorry…
I guess I should be one to talk.
There's nights that I can't even walk.
There's days I couldn't give a fuck.
And in between is where I'm stuck.

Nice Reminder
Let’s keep it classy. Rec’d
Does this pertain to Frank Wren
because I may not be able to stop bashing Wren. It really does get my hot.
You may continue to bash who you like on the Braves, just don’t get personal with others here, and keep your Braves-related attacks pertinent and well placed.
we already talked about this every pales in comparison to Biggio (and maybe Kendall)
"We win today, that's two in a row... if we win tomorrow, that's called a winning streak. It has happened before..."
Might Have Been Fun...
I was already thinking of myself as Patton, but we would have driven that tank of a metaphorical cliff and dragged this whole site down with us. That said, check out that movie (Patton) or at least some quotes from it (if you’ve seen it and remember it well, kudos) for the tenor I was thinking of striking up. Might have been fun, but I think we’re better off with the armistace brokered by this post. I nominate Gondee for the Nobel Peace Prize!
Thanks Gondz
can I call you Gondz? I think it sounds good.

Ok, OK
Enough already…………I’m sorry for calling Smoltz an egomaniacal greedy bastard. He probably is a delightful man.
I’m a member of two of the best blogs on SBN—Bright Side of the Sun and The Phinsider—as far as fan interaction goes (not that the teams are better…of course they are!). I’ve been accepted in a short amount of time to both of them and do see a difference between them and this blog. This one can get angry at times, but there is a lot of information here and I would hardly walk away because some bonehead ripped me.
With that said, thanks for the reminder of what we’re here for, to share info and not bitch slap each other because we’re not agreed with. There is a lot of pride in having a successful and fun blog, and there is a lot of respect that goes with it from other blogs.
So let’s just be friends….

Take care of the little things, and the big things will take care of themselves.
and I promise not to call Kelly Johnson Twinkle Toes ( because of the way he runs) anymore……I promise
