Lefty Reliever

I, for one, am pleased with the way the bullpen is shaping up.  We have, I think, two LHPs in the bullpen as it stands today, Mike Gonzalez and Boone Logan.  But this worries me...

The Mets have a large number of switch hitters.  One of whom, Reyes, I'd just as soon keep on the right side of the plate and far away from first base in the late innings.  Beltran also can swing from the left as well as Ryan Church and Brian Schnieder.  Their big middle of the lineup masher, Delgado, also swings lefty.

The Phillies can throw Howard, Utley, Rollins, Ibanez, Jenkins, as well as their top hitter for the bench, Greg Dobbs out there from the left side of the plate.

The NL East, maybe moreso than any other division, has a surplus of dangerous left handed hitters, most of whom play in one of the most homer friendly parks in the league.  We have not resigned Ohman and let Royce Ring go on.  Prior to getting to Gonzalez, do we feel comfortable enough to say Boone Logan is our guy to go get some of these guys out late in a game?   Is this another area that needs to be solved?  Does bringing Will Ohman back need to be a priority?

What do we know about Ridgeway?
