New Coach?

I am surprised no one has brought this up yet but I was just wondering what you guys thought about the firing of Yost and more specifically if that will affect our coaching staff in the offseason.  And if so then who will be hitting the door cause I hope it doesn't hurt Wellman's chances to make it up if he they were thinking about it.

My dad and I were talking about this earlier. It’d be great to hire Yost and have him be the bench coach, that way he could sit next to Bobby all season. And then, in 2010, Yost could take over as manager. I really think Bobby should be allowed to coach as long as he wants, but I feel like a part of him doesn’t want to leave unless he thinks the team will be in good hands. If he knew that Yost would be the manager, I feel like he’d finally think it was the right time.

OH GOD NO, DON’T YOU DARE TEASE ME WITH THE PROSPECT OF NED YOST MANAGING THE BRAVES

i have a couple friends who are brewers fans who pretty much said they won in spite of him, not because of him. the replacement in my mind is snitker, or one of the guys in the minors (wellman?)

Ned Yost is one of those managers who don’t understand in game tactical situations. I can’t imagine he could be much worse than Bobby in that regard, but Bobby has other personal skills that make the difference. Yost as manager would be horrible. There’s a reason he was fired from a playoff team.

I think the replacement should be able to make tactical decisions in game and handle personell. I have as much belief that the Braves will find that person as I do that America will find a politician who pushes the right buttons as President; ie, zero.

Way to work in the political opinions – I guess it is getting close to that time of the year now, isn’t it?

No wonder nobody likes you, Tuttle... everything's a (Pujols) damn debate.

Is it never not a political cycle?

Seriously though, there are definite parallels, neither selection process is run with an eye towards getting the most efficient person into the job.

I never said I disagreed – I was just making a verbal observation.

Wellman?!?

Funny though that would be.

I want Joe Gibbs.

Snitker or Wellman

No to Yost, no to TP. Chino couldn’t pass the physical required to walk to the mound.

Manager

YES to DAVE BRUNDIDGE voted MINOR LEAGUE MANAGER OF THE YEAR while at RICHMOND, VIRGINIA in 2008.

NEW COACH

TP and McDOWELL will be on the outside looking in when BOBBY leaves barring a tremendous positive turnaround in BC’s lame duck season. Presiding over a prolonged retrograde in BRAVES fortunes will cause management to look elsewhere within the system for COX’s replacement. In sports franchises as in business generally appearances are everything. The organization will not want to give the appearance that they are remaining with the status quo upon BOBBY’s retirement.

WHY are you RANDOMLY capitalizing WORDS?

by bigjoe on Sep 17, 2008 9:50 PM EDT up reply actions

The better question is, why does anyone capitolize any words?

by cbwilk on Sep 17, 2008 11:48 PM EDT up reply actions

For EMPHASIS

But I agree w/Bigjoe about the randomness of that post.

I get the emphasis thing, my point is, make a logical and coherent point, I can tell what’s important in the post.
