another possibility
As of right now we are still sitting with the 6th pick of next year's amateur draft. That number could change depending on the Pedro Alvarez/Eric Hosmer situation. If Alvarez goes back into the draft pool next season do we take the Boras client?
Another name moving up draft boards is Mike Minor, LHP from Vanderbilt. He went 3-0 with an ERA of .64 this summer. He looks to be Vandy's ace this upcoming season and could post Price-like numbers. Depending on how we finish the season, Minor could fall to us.

I seriously doubt Alvarez or Hosmer go into next years draft I figure both will be with there teams that drafted them in 2008 draft.

this creates a VERRRRRRY interesting scenario…well, not really, because the pirates and royals will get supplemental picks ahead of us in the draft, and theres no way strasberg is gonna slip SEVEN SPOTS.
Following the Braves...one long hard drink at a time.

No way Strassburg slips passed the Mariners, or the Padres, or, in all likelihood, the Nationals. We’re not going to get him.
What I do find interesting though is that both the Pirates and the Royals could draft before us twice. That’s kinda weird.
