Rox @ Braves Open Thread: Game 2
Colorado Rockies at Atlanta Braves, Sep 10, 2008 7:10 PM EDT
We get to see if James Parr can repeat the good performance he had in his debut, or if he is like every other homegrown Braves rookie pitcher the last few years -- a flash in the pan.

I'm all alone here....
both in the thread, and in my office. But the Bravos are leading, so all is well.
Back to work…..
at 3rd?
slow mo showed he was safe, but i don’t know what he was doing running.
common kotchman
let’s not leave them loaded again
FYF has a .294 BA in his last 9 games.
GIVE HIM THE MVP RIGHT NOW! They compared it to his .224 BA in the previous 34 games. Come on guys, just compare it to the entire season. It’s the same crap.
yeah if he was smart
he woulda signed long term after last season
i'm outta here, just here to see parr pitch
go braves, finish it out!
Even with...
…Parr getting screwed out of the win, I’ve been impressed by him so far. But let’s see how he adjusts to hitters when they adjust to him.
yeah, its only been 2 starts…but he hasn’t allowed a run and has a sub-1 WHIP. hasn’t allowed a hit to a lefty at all. theres gotta be something about him we don’t know, otherwise i find it hard to believe he wouldn’t have gotten a shot in the rotation when we were relevant due to the struggles of good chuck, bad chuck, and JJR
Following the Braves...one long hard drink at a time.
The bad thing is, Parr has nowhere to go but down. Or up, actually.
If you go back in history, there are zero Braves who started as well. I know he ain’t Tom Seaver or Dwight Gooden, but he has the tools. My feed quit after the third, but I noticed he threw high fastballs to sluggers, who fouled them off, then got them on low sliders. That is a recipe for success.
