Braves @ Snakes: Game 1
Atlanta Braves at Arizona Diamondbacks, Aug 7, 2008 9:40 PM EDT
And so we begin a four-game series against the Western Division leading Arizona Diamondbacks. There just might be some good pitching in this series. Both Haren and Webb will throw for the D-Backs, and Jurrjens and the resurgent Mike Hampton will toe the mound for the Braves, as well as the guy with the best ERA of any of these pitchers, Jorge Campillo (2.58). But tonight we get Charlie Morton, coming off one of his best starts of his brief major league career last Saturday.

Boog was talking about it earlier
But I can’t remember what he said.

Move South, my friend.
It’s 89 outside right now, but the Braves are on TV every night!
"Have you ever had your heart broken?"
"Yeah, when we lost the pennant in '87."
see, i dunno how i’d cope if i was watching the braves on my real TV…i like to watch 2 things at once. like right now, i’m watching this interesting documentary about the black death…and during april & may, i have network shows on every night, and i don’t have a DVR (...yet…)

If Glavine is sucessfull on Saturday
Which day next week will he get the start? Would it be on Thursday?
2008 Cubs: Who needs nine innings, when you only need a 7th?
i’d assume so…whatever day chuck is supposed to start, probably.
...god i hate bad chuck

it would be five days away from saturday, I'd really love to see him pitch in person
2008 Cubs: Who needs nine innings, when you only need a 7th?
if you’re expecting to see the elite pitcher of yore…yeah. good luck with that

How
do you fracture a testicle?
"Have you ever had your heart broken?"
"Yeah, when we lost the pennant in '87."
i assume fracture is the correct phrasology instead of rupture
Following the Braves...one long hard drink at a time.
BAHAHAHAHAHA i just typed “fractured testicle” into wiki, and the first result that came up…was FELIX PIE
Following the Braves...one long hard drink at a time.
Here's how...
From UrologyHealth.org:
“Suspended in the scrotum, a skin pouch below the penis, each testicle is surrounded by the tunica albuginea, a tough, fibrous covering that often takes the hit of trauma to the gland. Like the shell of an egg, it can be easily “fractured” or shattered when confronted by a blunt or violent force. “

dbacks announcers have spent the whole half inning talking about the installation of replay equipment, like they’re offended it happened. I’M IN COMMENTARY HELL AGAIN

“50 greatest moments in dbacks history”? they’ve been around for 10 years. how can you have 50 great moments in 10 years?

what about that time curt schilling was throwing a perfect game, and ben davis bunted for a hit, and bob brenly nearly ripped his head off? that was fun
Following the Braves...one long hard drink at a time.
My favorite note from that
Curt Schilling exploding about how it was “unprofessional”.
A hitter getting on base, which is, you know, HIS JOB. Totally unprofessional.
Class act that Schilling character.
Wow
The d-backs have a 1-woman color guard.
But she has 15 flags, in case anybody else wants to join her.

so she’s like the tomahawk team…ewwwwww tomahawk team.

Thank Pujols
The game is being broadcast with moving pictures or the AZ fans would have no idea what was going on.
Grace refuses to talk about anything interesting or related to the game. Humorous chit-chat is one thing, but who cares how many fingers are supposed to go in between hangars?
I'd think
they’d put hangars further apart than that, I mean, shit they house airplanes after all.
Now, if you are speaking of hangers, who the eff cares? I put as many that the shelf will hold. Distance between is not measured nor cared about.
"Have you ever had your heart broken?"
"Yeah, when we lost the pennant in '87."
It was Mark Grace's comment
I assumed he was stupid enough to mean that instead.
(See how I cover my tracks.)
SHANE DOAN TOMORROW NIGHT?!!?? fuck, i love shane doan

was there ever a settlement on the new name for Vidro since Vidro got released?
Because i vote for a Vinny, after the 6-4-3 Vinny Castilla. Plus its not that far from Vidro.
Don’t count the chickens before they hatch, especially when our bullpen is in the game.

News release tomorrow:
Chuck James and Blaine Boyer DFA.
Boyer to DL.
James to DFA.
Boyer still has value, but I am pretty sure that Bobby would have him on the mound DURING his TJ surgery.
Let's look at the positive:
Save situation!

Mark Grace just called Gonzo "Mike Rodriguez"
Gracie is terrible at his job, and should be replaced.
Boog said it, just like we all have
Never easy. But a win’s a win, and I’ll take it.

No wonder nobody likes you, Tuttle... everything's a (Pujols) damn debate.
Good game tonight, though I didn’t see a lick of it. I really like Morton’s line, and judging from what I read, he looked good doing it too. Under 100 pitches is nice. Couple more starts like this and I think we can pencil him in to the #5 slot next year (at least).
Let’s sweep the snakes. We need some kind of good news.
