Royce Ring is having an excellent season...
...in terms of inheirited runners scoring only. The main point of linking this is actually to point out how good of a reliever Ohman has been statistically: even while appearing nearly every game he is performing better than many closers.

i laughed HARD when i saw tyler yates at the top of that list.
ring was good when he was a LOOGY. not when he was…a full inning reliever. ohman’s been great all around and MAY actually get us type A status…that would be rad
Following the Braves...one long hard drink at a time.
Much More Likely...
Considering that half of the stats used for that ranking will be from his mediocre 2007, there’s just no way I could see him moving up to Type A. In fact, I have to believe the more likely outcome is that he gets burnt by overuse and ends up falling out of Type B all together. I think he’ll hold on for Type B, I’m just saying that getting nothing is more likely than Type A status. It’s one of the reasons I was surprised by our not moving him at the deadline…

Yeah, at the beginning of the year Ring was lights out in his LOOGY work. He went 4 innings, or 12 appearances, without giving up a hit during the times he only faced one batter. His last couple outings though…wow…

7/30 – 0.1 IP, 0 H, 1 ER, 1 BB
7/28 – 1 IP, 4 H, 3 ER, 0 BB, 0 K

I guess I should be one to talk.
There's nights that I can't even walk.
There's days I couldn't give a fuck.
And in between is where I'm stuck.
