Braves @ Giants: Let's Win Some on the West Coast

The Braves start a three-game set at the phone booth tonight. Those of you without jobs should be able to stay up and take in the entire game. Those of you with jobs may want to go ahead and call in and let work know that you're going to be late the next two days (and then leave early on Wednesday).
I'd like to see the team take at least two out of three against the third-worst team in the league. At the very least we need to win the first two before we send Chuck James up against Tim Lincecum and we get crushed while making the Giants look like the best offensive team in baseball.
The surgeon's on the hill tonight facing the Giants for the first time -- make all of those old veteran players on the Giants look like slow old veteran players. By the way, this is a perfect time to check out one of the funniest blogs out there (and it's a Giants blog), McCovey Chronicles -- truly one of the gems of the blogosphere.

the wind off the bay is fucking FRIGID. a few years ago, i went to a night game on july 31 wearing summer clothes…and was FREEZING MY ASS OFF by the 3rd inning

So is Chicago. I was up there in the middle of August and it was 50 degrees. I was cold wearing jeans + long-sleeves.

Oh yeah? I guess we forgot to tell you that they sell this stuff down here in the South that you rub on your skin and it keeps you from getting sunburned. Its called “sunscreen,” and you can get it for around $6.

I’ve been reading through this blog and I think you need to rip off his “Hall of Here, Just Take This Guy.” He explains it as a way to track guys the teams gets back when they make a trade just to get rid of a guy. The Braves haven’t made that many over the years, usually electing to release their failures (Mondesi, for example). I thought it was rather funny.
Let's win a few!
Why bother. This is the lowest point the team has sat since the late 1980’s. Change that to “let’s lose all the rest” so we can fully appreciate how awful this team is. (Yes, injuries are a big part). It’s time to start from scratch!
