maybe next time.

i like Josh better than Blanco, but i still think Schafer will win the CF job next year.

Will definitely be interesting to watch it all unfold. I’m fascinated by the way people watch, examine and develop theories on this stuff. Maybe this off season I’ll have time to learn some.

HEAP!

Back on the hitting track

Imhotep

This is crazy good.

Odarp!

I don’t know what they ate today, but it’s working…

by Lizziebeth on Aug 30, 2008 7:55 PM EDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Psssssshhhht

My hair weighs more than Boog’s! No contest there, but he wins the creativity one.

by Lizziebeth on Aug 30, 2008 8:00 PM EDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Crap

don’t throw it away Jo-Jo…please.

by Lizziebeth on Aug 30, 2008 8:03 PM EDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Ooops I almost forgot there was a game!

I finish dinner and then realize it’s already 8

by VictorW on Aug 30, 2008 8:06 PM EDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Hmmm. Not sure how you forget a game. But welcome! I’m running in between rooms, watching some on tv and then running in here to babble.

by Lizziebeth on Aug 30, 2008 8:13 PM EDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Guess I meant lost track of time

Nice to see runs on the score board already

I’m at home for the holiday weekend instead of at school so no tv for me to tonight. Found a stream though and hoping it’s not crappy.

by VictorW on Aug 30, 2008 8:15 PM EDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Really? where did you find the stream?

by Lizziebeth on Aug 30, 2008 8:23 PM EDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

http://www.freebaseballradio.com/AtlantaAug.html

At the bottom. The link called “TVAnts.” You have to have the program. Should be able to find it on Google. Takes a while to load and a couple minutes behind (most streams are). Quality pretty sharp for a stream and smooth.

Oh, and most of the radio links don’t work. A couple that usually worked aren’t working today.

by VictorW on Aug 30, 2008 8:29 PM EDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Ok, thanks! I used a radio one from that site at work until I was given a portable radio. They won’t allow me to download anything, so I forgot there was a video stream part.
But I’ll remember this for home.

by Lizziebeth on Aug 30, 2008 8:34 PM EDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

I love how they're talking about Yuni's "exuberance"

while showing him nearly falling asleep on the bench.

by Lizziebeth on Aug 30, 2008 8:10 PM EDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Haha

Picked a bad day to give him a day off. I bet he’s dying to make up for what happened last night

by VictorW on Aug 30, 2008 8:11 PM EDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

The worst thing about the Braves playing the Nationals

because of where I live, the Atlanta feed is blacked out and I’m forced to watch the Nats feed. /wrist

by Rhyno18 on Aug 30, 2008 8:32 PM EDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

But hearing the dejection in the Nats booth when Heap crushes one is sweeeeeeeeeet!!!!

by Rhyno18 on Aug 30, 2008 8:34 PM EDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Haha it was pretty funny hearing the guy say something like “It’s okay you didn’t get the call. Settle down.” and the BAM

by VictorW on Aug 30, 2008 8:37 PM EDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

HEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAPPP!

HR!

Hope I’m not ruining it for you guys…

by Lizziebeth on Aug 30, 2008 8:35 PM EDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Yikes

I just saw the HR.

The Hampton bat works!

by VictorW on Aug 30, 2008 8:36 PM EDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

I think BJones is pressing tonight

probably because he’s playing RF, and he thinks that’s what our RF is supposed to do.

by Rhyno18 on Aug 30, 2008 8:42 PM EDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

honestly, he’s just swinging at the first pitch. I’ve seen alot worse. Mostly from our normal RF

by Rhyno18 on Aug 30, 2008 8:54 PM EDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Poor Jo-Jo

Can’t get the win today

by VictorW on Aug 30, 2008 8:52 PM EDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Hahaha

That doll makes me laugh.

The Nats announcers said Buddy had some “zip” on his fastball. Never heard anyone describe it that way before

by VictorW on Aug 30, 2008 8:55 PM EDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

I always sing...

..the “My Buddy and me” song when Buddy comes in. It confuses one of my cats (the one in my avatar), because her name is Buddy.

by sddbaker on Sep 1, 2008 1:07 PM EDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Yikes

This isn’t good. At least it stayed in

by VictorW on Aug 30, 2008 8:56 PM EDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Well that was crap

No pitching no pitching no pitching.

by rawleigh on Aug 30, 2008 8:57 PM EDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Gees...

Buddy’s been pitching over his head, and it looks like he’s regressing back to the mean all in one night.

by VictorW on Aug 30, 2008 9:00 PM EDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Bad Buddy came to play tonight

and Photobucket is really pissing me off.

by Lizziebeth on Aug 30, 2008 9:11 PM EDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

I went to put a “sticker” on the buddy doll, and it made it the size of a pinhead, wouldn’t let me move it until about the 15th time I tried. Then when I got it the way I wanted, it seemed like it saved it, but when I tried to post it here, it was in a different color. It blended in too much in that color and made it pointless. Sigh. It just does things like that sometimes, but it’s aggravating.
On top of the blowing a lead aggravation!

by Lizziebeth on Aug 30, 2008 9:19 PM EDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

That sounds complicated

Can’t you just do it in Photoshop or Microsoft Paint?

by VictorW on Aug 30, 2008 9:26 PM EDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Probably (and better), but not with the time crunch. Since the photo was already in PB, thought it would be faster than opening another program, doing the edit, then re-uploading the photo to PB so I could post it here. I’m not the most astute “techie” kind of person, so let me know if there’s a faster, better way!

by Lizziebeth on Aug 30, 2008 9:34 PM EDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Not too good with picture editting myself. I think my skills go about as far as cut and pasting with Paint.

by VictorW on Aug 30, 2008 9:41 PM EDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

ATJ

Hard at work
Photobucket

The difference is that in this picture, HE CAUGHT THE BALL.

by Lizziebeth on Aug 30, 2008 9:23 PM EDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Um, he can’t catch that one. :)

by Lizziebeth on Aug 30, 2008 9:30 PM EDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

I think Heap made a good throw on that steal attempt, really had a chance to get him out.

by Lizziebeth on Aug 30, 2008 9:31 PM EDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Yep

You can’t throw a guy out if the pitcher lets the guy take off like that. I remember Maddux was (and still is) notorious for this.

by VictorW on Aug 30, 2008 9:31 PM EDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaggggggggghhh.

Brian Snitker, you moron. Shouldn’t have waved Joshie home.

by Lizziebeth on Aug 30, 2008 9:52 PM EDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

VERY true! I just wanted to blame somebody else for no run scored, lol.

by Lizziebeth on Aug 30, 2008 9:57 PM EDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Haha

Now that I think about it, there was 1 out with Chipper coming up. Holding woulda been the better move.

by VictorW on Aug 30, 2008 9:59 PM EDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Oh yeah

Thank you, Greg White.

by Lizziebeth on Aug 30, 2008 9:53 PM EDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

This picture has no relevance to the game

but it’s making me laugh, so maybe you’ll find it amusing, too…

Photobucket

+1

Hahaha. Did someone smelly use his helmet? Or did they just use a new shampoo?

by VictorW on Aug 30, 2008 10:08 PM EDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Must've been something with the helmet...

cause I just found another one, and I’m editing these in sequence…

Maybe Uggla stinks

Uggla’s forearms are freaking massive

by VictorW on Aug 30, 2008 10:32 PM EDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

The bat placement makes it even funnier

And that other catcher is totally checking Heap’s crotch out.

by VictorW on Aug 30, 2008 10:10 PM EDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

The bat placement

drives a friend of mine crazy! He does it constantly.

Nice captioning for the photo!

by Lizziebeth on Aug 30, 2008 10:13 PM EDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

The Nats announces are pretty funny...

They keep acting like Carlyle, Bennett, and Taverez have shut down stuff. “A lot of zip on that fastball.” (92 MPH) “He throws that sinker just like Derek Lowe.”

by VictorW on Aug 30, 2008 10:09 PM EDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

shoot

Another game bites the dust. Whom will the Braves let beat them? 5, 6, or 7?

by rawleigh on Aug 30, 2008 10:15 PM EDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Uh...

Not sure I understand you. On my radio, the game’s still on and tied. Are there teams named 5, 6 and 7 or did you mean by how many? Just trying to understand…

by Lizziebeth on Aug 30, 2008 10:20 PM EDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Just being pessimistic

Will batter 5, 6, or 7 beat us? Looks like #6, Dukes.

by rawleigh on Aug 30, 2008 10:20 PM EDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Gotcha!

I see, thanks for explaining.

by rawleigh on Aug 30, 2008 10:38 PM EDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

That’s funny that royhobbs is at the game – and they were going to show “The Natural” after it.

by Lizziebeth on Aug 30, 2008 10:46 PM EDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

walks

They’ll kill you. And now he’s at 2nd. Great.

by rawleigh on Aug 30, 2008 10:48 PM EDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Rats

This is soooo depressing.

by rawleigh on Aug 30, 2008 10:51 PM EDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

hahaha

what was that? a gift!

by rawleigh on Aug 30, 2008 10:53 PM EDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

What a disappointment.

A walkoff walk wins it for the nats!?!? And Dukes does it., an inning or 2 later. sigh.

by rawleigh on Aug 30, 2008 11:00 PM EDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan

After the first two outs, I thought Nunez had it…
