AFL - Mesa Solar Sox
The rosters are being set and there could still be some changes. Here is who we have designated to play in the Fall League as of right now.
Hanson, Marek, Heath, Medlen, Flowers, Pope, and Brandon Jones. I believe the rules prohibit more than 1 player below AA to play and Tyler Flowers fits that bill. My guess is that Heyward will make his debut in Arizona Fall League next season.

Anybody know if there will be a Hawaiian league this year?

Yes, there will be. I was talking to a few Orioles minor leaguers who said they’re going out there.

Egh, I’d prefer Medlen not to get the innings out there because he’s already twice over his innings from last year, but… I’d rather Parr get his innings to follow up some really good success at Triple-A.
Pope is a waste of a spot as well; if you’ve shown consistently that you can’t hit (and he has), you’re not going to learn to hit in a tougher environment. I’d have rather they sent Lillibridge or play around with the rosters a bit to have Campbell and Flowers be eligible.

I think he is saying the Braves should play with their minors rosters some so they could get both campbell and flowers on the AFL team. I don’t know how the roster rules work though. Might be some playing time eligibility issues or something.

The PDF in the link explains the rules and eligibility.

Too bad they didn’t actually plan for this. I doubt 20 games at AA would’ve hurt Flowers that much and it would’ve opened a spot for a guy with more upside than Pope. I can certainly see why he was sent – there’s not much in the infield at AA/AAA that didn’t play winter ball last year.
