Talking Chop Road Trip: Baltimore - Washington - Richmond
I'm headed out of town (again) this week on a baseball road trip. I'll be starting off in Baltimore on Wednesday, catching an Orioles-White Sox game at Camden Yards. Then I take the train down to Washington for three nights. The Braves will be in town to play the Nationals, so I hope to catch the first two games of that series. After DC I head down to Richmond, Virginia for the final two games in "Richmond" Braves history -- the last game being played on Labor Day afternoon. I'll have reports of each game I attend, some pictures, and hopefully some stadium reviews as well (I usually promise these and never deliver, but we'll see if I can stick to it this time). I've never been to any of these stadiums so it should be quite an adventure. If anyone has any tips for me feel free to post a comment.

Oh great
If I smell the lingering aroma of Listerine and vomit, I know I’m sitting to close to you in DC. I’ll be going to at least two games this weekend myself in Washington.
No wonder nobody likes you, Tuttle... everything's a (Pujols) damn debate.

It’s great that you’re going to see what a dump the Richmond stadium is before the team leaves. I really think everyone should experience it. I haven’t been to the new one in Washington, but I’m sure The Diamond will be quite a shock after a brand new state of the art stadium. I’ll be at both of the last two Richmond games; it’ll be odd to see you someplace other than the minor league fields in Orlando. One big tip for the Richmond stadium, bring a seat cushion.

I will miss .. .
The clang of foul balls smashing against the giant steel upper deck, and children manically scrambling to get a piece of the game. Dump or not, I’m still sad to see Richmond go. I’ve always been more likely to go see games in Richmond hundreds of miles away, rather than deal with the horrific North Atlanta traffic to go to Gwinnett.

Sounds like Columbus
And this is the last year of the Columbus Catfish – significant because Rome plays them. I was going to the game Tuesday, but it got rained out. Columbus has a nice enough stadium – old and quaint, I guess. But they have absolutely zero fan base. I’ve taken my family of five many times and we’ve sometimes literally been about a tenth of the entire crowd. Very sad. I think the Catfish are moving to Bowling Green, Kentucky. It’s a Rays team, so they usually put some good prospects out there…

It's got character.
I’m not sure if that character resembles Oscar the Grouch or not, but it’s gotta be close.
I refuse to sit anywhere but in the box seats because the others make my butt numb after about two innings. I’m going to unfortunately miss the last two games, which is rather tragic.
There’s already rumors of an Eastern League team coming in to fill the void, but since the city has dropped a new stadium from its plans for the Boulevard corridor, I don’t think it’s going to happen.
Long live the Braves!

Whoo-hoo
I look forward to living vicariously through both of your stories and pictures.

Gondee...
I’ll be at Saturday and probably Sunday’s game against the Nats. Let me know if you’ll be there.
I guess I should be one to talk.
There's nights that I can't even walk.
There's days I couldn't give a fuck.
And in between is where I'm stuck.
