That's A+, Not AA
Francouer has to know now that 2009 will be his final free ride in Atlanta’s OF.

Good…he needs someone to get his ass in gear.
I guess I should be one to talk.
There's nights that I can't even walk.
There's days I couldn't give a fuck.
And in between is where I'm stuck.

Do you think...
the SI jinx or the new wife is to blame? Surely, he doesn’t suck as bad as he has shown us this year! But, if 09 is not a vast improvement, he should be a travelin’ man.

You've gotta question the timing on this.
I’m wondering why we saw fit to promote him now, when there’s only a week left in the season? Perhaps to get some postseason experience with the Pelicans?

They did the same thing last year
When the GCL season was over they sent him to Danville for the playoff run. The same thing this year Rome season is about to be over so they are sending him to MB for the playoff run.

RINGER FOR THE PLAYOFFS!!
Ok, so calling up someone from the league below you may not quite qualify.

well
I think it might be for the playoff experience and the fact that just about every Rome game of late has been rained out.
We’ll find out soon enough.

Im suprised
Freddie Freeman wasnt promoted also…

yeah
Freddie deserves to be promoted as much if not mroe than Jason. I have a feeling there gonna be playing together all the way to Atlanta tho.

i think the reason freddie wasn’t promoted was because of how decent of a season meija is having, along with flowers being able to play first. no real need for him. whereas, the beach’s OF isn’t too hot
Following the Braves...one long hard drink at a time.

Yep...
we gotta watch that Freddie doesn’t get blocked. I’d hate to lose him, but I think he is not due before at least the 2010 season unless he puts up numbers that can’t be held back.

Freddy has RBI's Heyward doesn't...
Heyward has glitzy stats except RBI…Freeman is more run productive..either of them could help Atlanta in a couple of years…IMHO, both are solid players. Hope the Braves cut loose some of the dumpster sluts, in their system, to make room for true prospects. I hate it when they trash can guys like Elvis Andrus, now hitting hi .290’s with 50+ SB for Texas Rangers AA team.

Granted...
at all levels including the majors, the Braves are carrying too many “filler” players. There are way too many better players available than to carry some of the trash the Braves have — especially at AAA.

He’s also got a .373 SLG and is a complete butcher in the field. Errors aren’t the best measurement of a fielder, but he has 30 of them for the fourth straight year.

The relationship between errors and shortstops with tons of range is pretty strong. Andrus is by all accounts talented, if a bit rough, in the field. BP’s minor league translations have him as a +2 in FRAA, similar to his +1 last year. He’ll improve and his ceiling is pretty huge defensively.

I figured that a majority of his errors were throwing, much like Yunel, but even so…30 errors is alarming.

Have you seen both play in person?
Freeman’s stats speak volumes, but Heyward is much better prepared for a jump like that because of his ability to do the little things very well. I saw both on bad nights and Heyward was still able to get productive things done. Freeman just seemed frustrated and unable to turn it around.

Heyward's RBI's
RBI’s that level aren’t the stat they are at other levels in the organization, like you said Freeman has more RBI than Jason, but that’s mostly because Jason bats ahead of him. Both Freeman and Heyward are top prospects mixed into a lineup of scrubs and filler players. Scouts really put more judgment into stats like slugging %, HR per flyball %, and maybe runs driven in with RISP. It’s hard to judge a guy until he’s playing with/ against equal or better talent.
