Braves @ Cards Open Thread: Game 2
Atlanta Braves at St. Louis Cardinals, Aug 23, 2008 3:55 PM EDT
Let's try to hold the Cards to 10 or less runs today.
After pitching so brilliantly for several months, Jorge Campillo has shown signs of coming back down to Earth lately. In each of his last three starts, Campillo has given up five runs. This is a big game for Jorge where he needs to prove if those last three starts were flukes or not.

What Does Campillo Have To Prove?
Sure, he’s given up five runs in each of his last three starts, but he gave up just four TOTAL in he five starts prior to that. He was an established ace in Mexico, has a sterling minor league career and has been rock solid in Atlanta this year. He’s a #3 starter, give or take a slot . Everyone strugles from time to time, the question is whether you have what it takes to balance that out with quality starts. I, for one, have faith in Campillo.

Dang
Kotsay grounds out to 1st, Prado to short, KJ to Pujols—top of 4th. We have zero for hitters. Except Chipper & McCann. Bring up some minor leaguers—pitchers, too. Give them experience for next year. What’s to lose?
way to be bravos...
They’re showing some life thus far. Actually putting up a fight defensively and offensively to win today.
Yep I love this team
No matter how crappy the season is or how bad the previous day was, they still come out to play every day.
That was weird...
Went in and looked at the TV; one shot it looked like it was pouring, next shot it didn’t.
All you can do is laugh
Because when Mazzone mentioned the scenario, it happened.
No wonder nobody likes you, Tuttle... everything's a (Pujols) damn debate.
wow
Definite role reversal here. Those are the kind of things I expect from the Braves this season.
Yeah the hat color is weird from the first one
Oooh looks like you’re pretty close in the second one. You get to say hi?
Mmmmhmmmm...
with the eyes ;}
….lol!
Truthfully, I don’t like to (and I don’t like it when people) distract the pitchers when they’re prepping to go in. Probably why I get blurriness in some photos that late in the evening – I don’t use a flash when I’m standing over the bullpen like that. But Eddie (Perez) did talk to me a little later – asking me to get security to throw out some guys who were yelling at him. Here he is telling them that he heard what they said:
