Cubbies @ Braves: Game 1 of the Doubleheader
Chicago Cubs at Atlanta Braves, Aug 13, 2008 1:10 PM EDT
It's a day game to chat about while we're at work. All the things I said yesterday about hating the Cubs applies to this game.

So...
...I was just looking at FYF’s stats. It’s good to see that he has slightly increased his walk rate about one half percent from last year. That’s good right? Right?
His .269 BABIP is absolutely murder, though.
I guess I should be one to talk.
There's nights that I can't even walk.
There's days I couldn't give a fuck.
And in between is where I'm stuck.

Usually..
...the feed isn’t running until just before game time. So as it sits right now, it’s still a tad early…or is it another issue?
I don't know...
usually I can get it a little early and hear the pregame stuff.
Anyway, I found a live stream for a Braves network radio station, so no worries.
Looks like it's on Peachtree TV.
I don’t get PTV but they pipe the games in on a special channel down here in south Georgia. I guess those boneheads didn’t get the message that the game is on now and aren’t going to show it.
So we have two Chucks now. Morton must be Good Chuck and James could be plain Chuck, like on King of the Hill when Hank’s dad had another kid and named him Good Hank.
Morton Home/Away spilts
5 games each, not including today.
Home: 8.39 ERA 1.74 WHIP
Away: 3.41 ERA 1.17 WHIP
Hmmm…
i didnt even notice francoeur was on the bench again. AWESOME.
Following the Braves...one long hard drink at a time.
somebody in Atlanta...
...go to Turner Field and kill all the stupid Cubs fans…
I would say kill Morton too, but maybe we could just use him on the road…
mike hessman and scott thorman are olympians…was rico brogna unavailable?

Apparently the Braves turned on the lights while they batted last inning, and Joe West made em’ turn them off b/c you can’t turn them on in the bottom of the inning. So at the start the this inning, right as Nunez was ready to throw, Joe West calls time and comes to the mound, wanting the lights on. Bobby then shouts something from the dugout, and gets ejected.
okay...
Pete and Lemmer are talking about it now. Bobby didn’t like him waiting till Nunez was about to throw. They figure West just waited so he could get on TV.
Way to go Bueno!
Its about time somebody on this team showed some fire. Although i would have prefered Bueno actually hit Soriano, but i guess just missing his head will do.
