Ohman

I was wondering if anyone knows Ohman's free agent status?  Is he under contract after this year?  If not, does anyone know what his free agent status will be?  Type A or B or neither?  Any chance if he keeps doing well, he will be a Type A?

Probably a Type B, but if he keeps it up, maybe a Type A. Borderline, no doubt.

I think I read somewhere he has a shot at being a Type A – but at least a B.

If he turns out to be a Type A,

and we don’t trade him or Tex, could we be looking at 2 first rounders and 2 Sup 1st rounders in addition to our own? If that’s the case, let’s not make any trades unless we can get a boatload of prospects in return.

He wasn’t an A or B after 2007. His 2008 may be good enough to sneak him into B status as they measure using the last two years of data and he has a pretty mediocre 2007 to overcome. There’s literally no chance he’s an A though; his ERA is 3.81 over the past two years and he’ll end this season with something like 7 wins, 3 saves, 110 IP, and only a 2:1 K/BB ratio. Guys who are A’s are typically studs for two years, not just very good for one and mediocre for another.

I don't think it matters...

I have a feeling he is on some short lists and may go by trade before the 31st.
