The season is long. You play every day. They clean the field each night. They prepare the field each morning. They drop fresh white chalk down the lines. “No matter what happened yesterday,” Bobby says, “there’s another ballgame today.”
It is as simple as that.
No wonder nobody likes you, Tuttle... everything's a (Pujols) damn debate.

Until the season ends. Then life just kinda sucks.

I remember I had a conversation with a friend last October after the regular season ended, and it went along the lines of this:
me: I don’t know what I’m going to do. There is no more Braves baseball. What the eff am I going to do?
him: the nba?
me: .............. heh
me: hahahaha
me: HAHAHAHAHA
me: HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAAHA/continue five minutes
me: whew seriously now
me: that’s like trying to console someone whose family was just murdered and thrown off a cliff with a free coke at mcdonalds.
At least that’s how it feels to me.

Haha...
...I love how in the span of four seperate lines of conversation you go from a polite chuckle to a manical cackle.
But yeah, the NBA blows.

I manage
because I enjoy college sports. UK football and basketball keep me occupied almost until opening day (depending on how far we go in the tourney). I’m pretty much as dedicated to both of those as I am the Braves. I watch some NFL too, and while I like it, it is by no means a passion.
Of course, football season sucks because you have to wait 6 days in between games. So, from September to November, things settle down and I have lots of free time to enjoy the beautiful fall weather. But usually I just drink.
"Have you ever had your heart broken?"
"Yeah, when we lost the pennant in '87."
