Padres Series Pitching

With this being the last series before the break, and the team really needing a series win, why wouldnt they skip morton's spot in the rotation and leave both Campillo, and Jurrjens on their regular rest to pitch on saturday and sunday? And in addition to that, it doesnt seem like they have skipped their fifth starter much at all this year. I dont know why that is whether it is because they want to give the young guys as much rest as possible or what, but i just found it curious.

Probable pitchers

And I thought we were going to get to see Maddux this weekend. Strange, considering he pitched on Monday; I suppose they’re giving him two weeks off or something.

No wonder nobody likes you, Tuttle... everything's a (Pujols) damn debate.

After watching...

...Kuroda carve up our lineup with about 9 pitches per inning I’m not going to worry about pitching matchups anymore.

I'm gettin' out of this town alive...even if it kills me.

I just thought having Jurrjens get a start instead of Morton would give us the best chance at a series victory.

Mixed emotions

I don’t know how I feel about not seeing Maddux. On the one hand, I never get to see him pitch anymore. On the other, I don’t want to watch him get shelled by us, or pitch a 2-hit shutout against us. Nothing good can come from him pitching against us, so I guess maybe I’m relieved?

"Yeah, when we lost the pennant in '87."

I love the Mad Dog, but...

I wouldn’t mind a no decision. Let their bullpen mess it up.

Interesting

Maddux on Saturday?

Sign On San Diego’s website – slates Greg Maddux to go to the mound on Saturday, which would be about normal rest. MLB’s putting Banks up to go Saturday. Only one way to find out, I suppose. . .
