Tex to the Dodgers ???
I really don't know who posted this a couple of weeks ago but I still like the trade idea of sending :
Tex + Lillibridge + Soriano t o Dodgers
FOR
J. Loney, M. Kemp, and J. Broxton
I believe that Broxton could be our second closer/set up guy Kemp and Loney are both young players we can control salary wise and more for a couple of seasons. I throw in Soriano but I doubt the Dodgers would want him b/c he has been on and off the DL all season.
Second trade :
Lillibridge to Pirates for Xaixer Nady ???
I would prefer the Dodger deal b/c we could control Loney, Broxton and Kemp for many seasons, or at-least longer than Tex b/c he is not going to re-sign with Atlanta and really he is not having the big year we all thought he would have.

Wait, the Dodgers trade 12.5 seasons of below market value of players who are already studs for 3 months of Teixeira, 9 months of Soriano, and a 24 year old shortstop who can’t seem to hit and isn’t great shakes in the field? Let’s just say that’s not going to happen. Hell, I doubt the Dodgers would bite on Loney for Teixeira, Lillibridge, and Soriano.
The second is semi-plausible as long as we squint and pretend Lillibridge has serious trade value. He an advanced college hitter who’s 24 and not hitting in AAA and doesn’t offer any plus skill except speed. Pittsburgh will want more for Nady especially since he’s under control for another year.
I'm noticing a pattern.
Every minuscule trade rumor/speculation/interest about Teixeira gets re-hashed here by this guy:
Tex to the Dodgers ?
Tex to Red Sox ?
Tex to the Reds ???
Maybe its the triple question marks that rubs me the wrong way, but just because you read something on MLBTradeRumors, you don’t have to post it here. I’m not trying to discourage you from posting, but many of us read that blog too. I guess what I’m saying, is that unless there is something more substantial than, “The Dodgers could possibly, maybe, might potentially, have said in passing they are thinking about being interested in Teixeira,” it really isn’t worth speculating about.
No offense, nor is this comment directed at anyone in particular, but I’m sick of all the speculation about Teixeira. I could sit here and draw up 1200! (that’s 1200 factorial) trade possibilities involving Teixeira, but there would be no point—only Frank Wren knows what he’s going to do. I realize some people like discussing trade possibilities, but I don’t. I’m not going to stand in anybodies way of doing so, and by all means talk about it all you want. But at least put some thought behind it. Honestly, Bronson Arroyo for Teixeira? Get real. Teixeira, Lillibridge, Soriano for Loney, Kemp, Broxton? Hmm, not likely.
Maybe I’m out-of-line because I’m still fuming over losing the series to the Dodgers. Or, maybe I’m not. You tell me.
"Have you ever had your heart broken?"
"Yeah, when we lost the pennant in '87."
My take
Speculation like this comes from boredom. The mainstream media has been trying to stir up Teix rumors for a while now. It makes sense that the masses follow suit. Still, one does get the sense that something drastic will happen if the Bravos can’t get their ship righted. Then again, I’ve been feeling that way for a while now and nothing too drastic has gone down (wow, we signed a 33 year old reliever, woop de doo).

I enjoy speculating on trades, but I like them to be based on at least some degree of reality. Maybe a rumor from MLBTR, Jayson Stark, Peter Gammons, etc, not just what you thought of last night at 2 am. I like hearing everyone’s takes on whether or not a guy we might get would be good for us. I know blogging doesn’t change the world, but hey, if Sportscenter’s lead story is that BRETT FAVRE SENT A TEXT MESSAGE TO THE PACKERS even though they have no idea what it says or if it even happened at all, let’s have a little fun speculating too. At least it’s better than wallowing in sorrow after the latest almost-no-hitter.
What really burns me up, though, like the original post here, is that SOO many “Braves fans” are ready to throw in the towel already! It’s not even halfway through the season and we’re only 6-7 games back. Sure, we’ve struggled some, but as fans we should be holding out hope that we can right the ship and get on a roll, no matter how crazy it sounds! When that hope is gone, then maybe it’s time to admit that we’re not having a big year like we wanted or whatever. But, until then, be a fan!
I agree
let’s stop talking about where Tex is going and start talking about how the hell we’re gonna have good offensive days when we have phenomenal pitching performances!

Chump change
Tex + Lillibridge + Soriano to Rays
for
Durham Bulls
No wonder nobody likes you, Tuttle... everything's a (Pujols) damn debate.
Just can’t see a Tex trade bringing us a lot given that Boras is going to take him to
FA. The bets you’ll get in return is mid-level prospects so then are you not better off just taking the draft picks that we would get if he leaves? As to the 2nd trade no way do we get Nady for Lillibridge. Can’t see Pirates taking back a player they already traded once. Especially one who seems overmatched by ML pitching.
I AM SICK OF IT
Hey all you people that are people that for some reason are hating on the fact that the Braves rented Tex for 1 1/2 seasons for the Rangers it is not my fault. It is also not my fault that the Braves suck this year. Yes they have up and coming talent and yes the play hard but the simple fact is that they aren’t that good and I am the only one with the balls to say it. I am sure their will be some pissed off blogs, posts or whatever but who cares THE TRUTH hurts !!!
