Mike Hampton in Rome
Hampton is starting tomorrow night, so come out to the ol ballpark in Rome, because it will probably be the last time you ever get to see him pitch cause you know he's gonna get hurt again! Game starts at 7 at State Mutual Stadium!

LETS MAKE A PAT...
to never use his name or show a pic of him until he pitches in a big league game for us…
I only agree...
...because I won’t be there! Smotlz, yes, Julio Franco, yes, even John Thomson. But Hampton? Gas is too expensive for that drive.
I will be in rome,
But not because of Hampton. I normally go to monday games.

Please…I know you’ll be there wearing your Hampton jersey underneath your coat. Waiting for the right time to rip off your coat off Hogan-style and expose your love for Mr. Glass!

Hampton's warm up song
I heard a local radio station having a contest to come up with a good warm up song for Mike Hampton. I never dial in radio shows, but I did that morning and couldn’t get through. Something really lame won, something related to his name or something stupid like that….I think the DJs were even put off by the fact that people weren’t coming up with a good angle on Ol’ Mike. So here are a few of my choices for a Mike Hampton warmup song:
1. Everybody Hurts – REM: (for me, this is the winner. I can just see Mike warming up to Michael Stipe’s whining about hurt and pain as opposed to a real pitcher getting pumped to Van Halen or whatever….)
2. King of Pain – The Police (hee hee hee)
3. Heart of Glass – Blondie (just the whole glass imagery….)
Any others?

I just got back from the rome game.
The stat line is a bit ugly, but note that he didnt give free passes and he kept the ball on the ground. If it werent for miserable defense, things might have looked better.

He's a lesser known prospect...
He’ll be a bit of a project, but the scouts project him as a number three starter. That is, unless he sustains some kind of freak injury.
