Brewers @ Braves: Charlie Verses the Beer Factory
Milwaukee Brewers at Atlanta Braves, Jun 24, 2008 7:10 PM EDT
I tell you... the Brewers must be thinking they would be lucky to win one game coming into this series facing our pitching. I mean... Reyes, Morton, and Campillo... a three-headed pitching juggernaut.
By the way, is it just me or does Ben Sheets own us like the Cubs own futility? Every start he has against us seems to be some sort of complete game near shutout.
Hey, at least the Dawgs won... they need one more win today.

phils' streak
dudes….. the phillies have lost 5 straight. STRAIGHT!!!!!! One more and they’ll tie us this season. Why can we not string together a bunch of wins? IMHO i really believe that Florida will get tired and bow out shortly after the ASB. I’m not sure about the Mets, since i’ll never give up on them, and they’re just scary to me. But the Phils are legit, they rock and roll AND rule, and if they’re floundering, this is the time we need to jump.
Why cant our players have good games on the SAME night?
Reminds me of...
...last June. The Mets couldn’t buy a win, but unfortunately, neither could we. Had we won even half of the games we lost, we would’ve had like a 4.0 game lead on the Mets by July.
Would’ve, should’ve, could’ve.
No wonder nobody likes you, Tuttle... everything's a (Pujols) damn debate.
Hello everyone!
I finally have a minute or two to post something. I’ve been back since the early AM of Saturday, but no time to do any posting—I’ve barely read a few things. My week was great, despite a gang shooting about 200 yards away on Wednesday. I hope to be back on here soon, but I have a ton to do at work, with this being the last week of the fiscal year and me having to count those beans.
I was at the game this past Friday night—got to see a 10-2 pounding, but more importantly I was there for the cow’s first tomahawk chop. All in all, the team has fared better than I could have hoped during my absence, considering how badly they were doing right before I left. So, let’s go Braves!
Welcome back
Friday’s game, sure was something wasn’t it? I was there too. I put my book down to see the “timely” first chops of the cow, and I’m amazed that they actually made it larger than the Coke bottle. I fear to ask where the gang shootings you experienced were, be it here in Atlanta, or where you are – that’s some wild nonsense.
I’d say, join us and tell us any interesting happenings while the Braves extract revenge on the Brewers tonight, but I’m not going to be present tonight or tomorrow afternoon – it’ll have to be another time for me!

The shooting occurred...
at Bowen Homes in Atlanta. I was there conducting a Vacation Bible School at the community center.
Just google'd Bowen Homes...
Yeah, doesn’t surprise me, given the location…

What color were the gang shooters…
/too soon?

LOL. That's terrible.
I can’t remember what movie “too soon” is from either, but it’s a good pull either way.
yeah “too soon” is a pretty classic line. for the amount of times i use it, i should probably know where it’s from

Just an update...
Watched the game last night at ESPNZone here in Chicago. Sat next to a Brewers fan who had played baseball at Minnesota with Denny Neagle. Thought it was pretty cool, but I’m easily impressed. Sheets looked pretty nasty last night.
Also, glad we didn’t face the real King Felix last series. Apparently, he can hit and it is not just a rumor.
"Have you ever had your heart broken?"
"Yeah, when we lost the pennant in '87."
It's one thing
To lose to great pitching like we did last night. Quite another to lose like we’re going to tonight.
Unreal.
Looks like the Braves are gonna make it an easy choice to watch the Georgia game
All Thumbs FYF? Lets see Bobby use that line he use to use about andruw about his defense being worth a couple runs per game.
He threw a fit
at first when called out on the line drive DP to fielder…Bobby made a U-turn back to the dugout because Yunel got tossed so quickly
Hmm....
sort of surprised that they did not put Lillibridge in to play SS to give him a chance to play some…
Geez....
another error, this one on Infante…..
someone needs to rip this team and get them back focused….this is pathetic. They act like they could care less right now.
Using Chipper....
to lead off the 8th was a mistake, because you know if he gets on base you have to pinch run for him, and if he hits a HR, you are still 2 down. Not sure why he did not save him to possibly use with runners on base, which ended up happening in the ninth.
I was scratching my head when Bobby decided to do that, and now it came back to hurt.
Wow
Only 27 game-time comments? This is getting really sad. I hope today is a little more lively, I’ll be going to the afternoon game, so I won’t be able to contribute.
I see that Francoeur went 2/4, and was pleased to see that he wasn’t the game-ending out, which I predicted when I saw the brief scoring summary on my phone. Glad I didn’t have to edit the LOB photo when I got back from Eddie Izzard (Who was phenomenal, btw)
WTF, Craig Counsell is on the Brewers? Please tell me that I’m not the only one here who finds annoyance at his helicopter batting stance?

I watched the first inning, and after 3 errors, it made it easy to focus on the Georgia game
Which equally sucked, so i’m pretty depressed this morning.
