Injury update: Can you guys help me out please?

I've been trying to keep up. I have, honest. But, with the 6 game sweep, and the road trip with the Halos lingering, i took a few days off of Braves.  Thankfully, too, since they won a series actually.

But part of this Braves fast, even before it included the actual games, was that I stopped reading all the reports, articles, and seemingly by-the-minute injury updates.

What this post is intending, is to have all our injury info on one post for quick reference.  Currently, i feel like I have no idea what's going on. I see posts about Hampton and Glavine in the same sentence.  I see Soriano gone. Gonzalez? Who? I didnt even catch a follow up about Smoltzie.

So, it would really help me out if we could get this all out here. Who is injured, why, and what is the expected outcome? Desired outcomes maybe should be held off on until we can get the facts straight.

Thanks ya'll, whoever will end up posting a lot.

well, i did post it immediately.

Anyway, i know that there are other websites that have this mapped out, and probably it would be easy to look, but isnt this way just so much more fun?

Here's what I got

John Smoltz: Out For Year
Tom Glavine: Out Until All-Star Break
Mike Hampton: Still Out, going to rehab
Mike Gonzalez: Rehabbing in Richmond
Mark Kotsay: DL – Back
Matt Diaz: DL Knee
Chipper: Day to Day – Quad (though he’ll be playing, don’t expect him to run out any infield hits).
Anthony Lerew: 60-Day DL (He had TJ surgery last year)
Rafael Soriano: DL – Elbow issues

Martin Prado is also still out as well, though I don’t have any details.

starting rotation?

What is our starting rotation currently, and how has everyone fared?

Except for Jurjjens, i’m not even sure who’s stepping in where and what. I figured Chuck and Suck might be back up, but havent seen him. Not even sure who Morton really is.

Brandon Jones

When did he come up? Where did he most recently come from? Who is he replacing?

by traphicg on Jun 16, 2008 1:33 PM EDT reply actions

Anderson was sent down when Jones was brought up

Jones has been surprising

He’s off to a hot start, and i know it could end up being a Willie Harris/Charles thomas situation where he drops off suddenly. But the difference may be that he is a highly regarded prospect, and not a journeyman, or an average minor leaguer who got hot at the right time.

soriano/glavs

Soriano has an unexplained elbow thing, nobody knows anything. Glavs should be back after the ASB.

Rotation has been pretty damn solid, the offense has done nothing though. Especially Francoeur, though he may be heating up now.

Mike Gonzalez is supposed to be activated sometime during the next homestand. Matt Diaz is 2 1/2 weeks into a 4-6 week period. Charlie Morton is our most ready starting pitching prospect who tore up the Arizona Fall League and was having a great year at Richmond.

Coming soon: Boyer with tired arm.

updates needed

according to Yondaime – hudson and Jurrjens are both probable injuries….

what the hell?????

Wow, you have been gone awhile

Hudson is no big deal, he got dehydrated in his last start and had to get fluids thorugh an IV after he came out in the 6th. Jurrjens fell down some stairs at Wrigley Field and twisted his ankle, but as you can see, he’s pitching tonight.
